A Glimpse Of Plagiarism

I noticed some plagiarism on some posts (not here on Blurt), and it came to my attention that many don't even know the meaning of plagiarism.

This post is not really going to be long as I just want to spark the awareness of it again.


Plagiarism


Plagiarism refers to passing off someone else's work, ideas, or words as your own without proper credit, acknowledgment, or permission.

It can take many forms:

Plagiarism can take many forms but I'm going to focus just on main two now. That is;


  • Direct plagiarism in other words copy and paste:

Copying someone else's content and pasting it in other to post as your content, is a very fatal way of plagiarism. That is a criminal act.


  • Paraphrasing without citation:

Posting someone else's content without showing where it was gotten from by a link or another thing that can be used to cite the phrase, you can be penalized for that too.


There are also other's like, accidental plagiarism which is, failing to cite where the content was gotten from.
