As per the tradition of Baul Emperor Fakir Lalan Shah, Sadhu Sanga and Lalan Remembrance Festival is organized in the premises of Kushtia Lalan Shrine every year on Dol Purnima in the month of March. This 3 day festival is organized every year under the management of Lalon Academy.

This year, as Dol Purnima falls in the holy month of Ramadan, the celebration of Lalan Samarnotsava 24 has been shortened to one day on March 24. This time, there will be no organization of Sadhu Sanga and songs. A discussion meeting has been organized on March 24 at 3 pm in the premises of the shrine. This information was given through a circular from the Kushtia district administration on March 20. Mr. Md. Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Honorable National Member of Parliament of Kushtia 3 Constituency and Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, will be present as the chief guest in the discussion program at Lalon Academy Auditorium on Sunday, March 24 at 3 pm.

Prominent writer and researcher Advocate Lalim Haque will discuss the life and work of Fakir Lalon Shah as the main speaker. Honorable Member of Parliament for Kushtia 4 Constituency Mr. Abdur Rauf, Superintendent of Police Kushtia Mr. AHM Abdur Rakib, Chairman of Kushtia District Council will be present as special guests.

Kushtia District Awami League General Secretary Mr. Md. Azgar Ali. Mr. Md. Ehetesham Reza, President of Lalon Academy and Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia, will preside over the discussion program of Lalon Memorial Festival 24, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and District Administration of Kushtia.

Lalan was a humanitarian saint. He who removed from all kinds of ethnic differences including religion, caste, gotra and gave humanity the highest place. It is from this non-sectarian spirit that he composes his songs.[6] His music and philosophy have been influenced by Rabindranath Tagore,[7][8][9] Kazi Nazrul[10] and Allen.

Many famous poets, writers, philosophers, intellectuals and many people like Ginsberg[11]. His songs have been sung by many musicians throughout the ages.[6] 25 years before Gandhi, he was the first in the Indian subcontinent to be given the title 'Mahatma'.[12]
Simon Zakaria has written a play entitled "Uttarallalancharit" based on the reliable information of Lalan Saiji's biography and the key words of Lalan-philosophy. The play has been published by Sadar Prakashani of Dhaka. Uttaralalancharit play was presented in Dhaka University drama hall by dramatists and Baulsadhaks.
