Before preparing the pond, the main thing in this fish farming is to select the right pond A pond that has water for 4 to 6 months in a month should be selected Nursery ponds of 15 to 20 decibels in size and rearing ponds of 20 to 100 decibels in size are good. But it will be a little bigger than this. The bank of the pond should be repaired and if there are plants on the bank, its branches should be cut. Unwanted fish and other animals should be removed if the water in the pond dries up. Excess mud on the pond floor should be removed. After this, lime should be added at the rate of one kilogram per decimel.
Three-four days after application of lime, new water should be filled in the reservoir. After 7 days of lime application, 6 kg dung in decimel should be left to decompose for at least 3 days. Then 100 grams of urea and 70 grams of single super phosphate should be given. After 2-3 days of fertilizer application, if the pond water is light greenish-brown in color, the fish should be released.
Method of release:
Fish weighing 20 to 25 grams in Antur ponds hatch 1.5 to 2,000 fry per decimel. If the chick weighs 10-15 grams, 250 healthy chicks can be stocked in Lalon Pond. So, in case of semi-intensive monoculture, 200-300 gift tilapia fry will be released and in mixed culture with other fishes, 100-150 tilapia will be released.
Food:
Supplemental fish feed should be applied during fish farming in ponds. From 1 day after hatching in the pond, rice curd should be given daily at the rate of 4-6 percent of the weight of the fish present in the pond. As the pond fish grow, any type of food known as fish food can be fed. 25-30% protein rich floating feed should be applied at 4-5 weeks of nursing and later during rearing for better yield.
Care:
100 grams of lime should be applied at a depth of 1 meter per decimel after 1 month of stocking. The amount should be increased or decreased depending on the pH of the water. Every 7 to 10 days the net should be drawn and the growth of the fish should be monitored and the amount of food should be determined. Ponds should be observed 1 hour after food application. If food is found in the pond, it means that there is a problem with the pond or the fish or that the food is being overfed.
