I hope you all are well and I am also well. Today I am back with another new post. A few days ago I shared a post with you where I tried to tell you that after our school holidays exams have started. I tried to share those topics of our school exam with you in the form of posts, I think you who have read my posts in the past are very well aware of the topic. In addition to the end of the exam, teachers have to do another difficult task that is the task of looking at the accounts. Only teachers can tell how difficult this task is. Common people may think that checking this account is very easy and very enjoyable. Many people like to see accounts. What can I say about many? When I was a student, I was also very enthusiastic about looking at books. When my brother-in-law brought the books from the board, I used to look at them myself so that I could have some experience of looking at the books myself. And most of all I was interested in looking at the account so that I can think that I have seen the account later.

Currently, I am a teacher by profession, so I think that looking at the notebook after the exam is a very important task for me. I have noticed that there are many school teachers who find bookkeeping boring but to be honest I really enjoy bookkeeping. In fact, if there is joy in any work, then it is natural that the work will always be good. It's not just about looking at the ledger, it's not about anything, if you like doing something and it's something you like, you'll notice that you always feel better doing it. And if you don't like any work, you will see that no matter how good the work is, whenever you are going to do it, you will feel bad in your mind. In no way does the mind settle in doing the work so in doing any work it is very important to have love and affection for that work.

This is because all the activities of our school exams are over and now the book viewing phase has started. Although the number of students in each class of our school is relatively not that much but since our school is a cadet oriented school, we have to make the bookkeeping very important. The parents of our school are very conscious because of which they always keep a very close eye on the books and we have to look at the books in the same way. So carefully we have to look at the accounts so that no mistake can be noticed there. And avoiding mistakes in looking at the notebook is a very big responsibility for a teacher, I think, because if a teacher can't do it properly, then he has no qualifications to be a teacher. A teacher can be an ideal teacher only if he can teach well but to be an ideal teacher he has to be able to play his role very well with different types of activities. A teacher can be regarded as an ideal teacher only if he can perform his role very well in all subjects otherwise, no matter how good the teacher is, he will not be looked upon favorably by the society and the parents. I speak from my own practical experience that I observed a teacher who could teach very well. Even the students in his class got very good marks. But unfortunately the truth is that the teacher made a mistake one day while looking at the notebook, that is, a student was getting more marks than she was supposed to get. I noticed that the student was getting 110 out of 100.

And I noticed that the teacher put the number 110 on the notebook without taking it seriously. Later, when we were coordinating the accounts with the head teacher, the matter came to our attention. So think after being a good teacher, when he gives wrong numbers in the notebook like this, does that teacher have the qualifications to be a good teacher? Or any person can admit that he is a good teacher if he sees that teacher. Think for a moment, if this matter comes before the eyes of the parents, then how the parents will look at the matter. Then various questions will arise about the qualification of that teacher. In fact, what will be said is a natural thing. That's why I think one of the important tasks of a teacher is to look at the notebook.

If I share another incident of the same teacher with you, then you will understand how ignorant that teacher is in looking at the account. I will share a final exam incident with you now. Once I noticed that the results of the fifth class final examination were published and the teacher was responsible for preparing the results. He might have thought of some random thing while making the result or somehow he made a mistake in adding the numbers while making the result. Later on we noticed that after the preparation of results was over, the student who was supposed to get first place failed. When the result was published, the student started crying because she could not imagine that a student like her would fail. And after getting the result, the student went home crying. It didn't even cross my mind so I discussed with the head teacher how it could be possible. Later, with the help of the head teacher, I started looking for the student's report card of that class so that we can get a proper idea why the student failed. Next time when we started to observe the notebook, we found that the student got a lot of marks in the notebook but the teacher mistakenly wrote such numbers on the notebook due to which the student failed.

So think about the state of mind of that student after getting the result, she could think that she will be scolded a lot after going home. We have noticed one thing that in our country, if a good student gets bad results, parents scold her a lot, which is really bad. When we understood the whole matter with the head teacher, we called the said teacher to show the book. After seeing the notebook, the teacher was surprised and started saying that how could I have made such a big mistake. Later, we did not delay any more after all the students of our school went home and all the teachers reached that student's house. And after reaching the student's house, I showed them the result of creating a new one and said that this is because your daughter did not fail, madam, by mistake, she left the number low on the notebook. After learning about this, the student started crying even more.

I noticed that the result is a very sensitive issue for the students of our country. Many students commit suicide every year due to poor results. And if the reason for that bad result is such a teacher, then think once who is really responsible for the death of that student or girl. Is the student responsible for her bad results or is the student's death due to a teacher's negligence and mistake? That's why I think it's very important to look at exam papers to fulfill your responsibilities as a teacher. That's why I always try to be very attentive while looking at the exam papers so that there are no mistakes. Because a student's life can be ruined due to the slightest negligence. For this, whenever I start looking at the exam papers, I stay alone for a long time and try to look at the papers alone. As a result of looking at the ledger alone, no other thoughts come in one's mind and one can easily see the ledger very easily. Since the account is looked at alone and there is no other work pressure on the head at that time, the possibility of making mistakes in the account is reduced. After I finish looking at each account, when I submit it, I double-check them carefully so that I don't accidentally make any kind of mistakes again, because one small mistake of mine can be another person's life-long cry.

আশা করি আপনারা সবাই ভাল আছেন আমিও ভাল আছি আজকে আমি আপনাদের মাঝে পুনরায় আরও একটা নতুন পোস্ট নিয়ে হাজির হয়ে গেলাম। কিছুদিন আগে আমি আপনাদের মাঝে একটা পোস্ট শেয়ার করেছিলাম যেখানে আমি আপনাদেরকে বলার চেষ্টা করেছিলাম যে আমাদের স্কুলে ছুটির পরে পরীক্ষা শুরু হয়েছে। আমাদের স্কুলের পরীক্ষার সেই বিষয়গুলো আমি আপনাদের মাঝে পোস্ট আকারে শেয়ার করার চেষ্টা করেছিলাম আপনারা যারা বিগত সময়ে আমার পোস্টগুলো পড়েছেন তারা বিষয়টি সম্পর্কে খুবই ভালোভাবে অবগত হয়েছেন বলে আমি মনে করি। পরীক্ষা শেষ হওয়ার পাশাপাশি শিক্ষকদের আরও একটা কষ্টের কাজ করতে হয় সেটা হচ্ছে খাতা দেখার কাজ। এই কাজটা কতটা কঠিন একটা কাজ সেটা শুধুমাত্র শিক্ষকরাই বলতে পারে। সাধারণ মানুষেরা হয়তো বা মনে করে থাকে যে এই খাতা দেখার কাজটা হয়তোবা অনেক সহজ এবং অনেক আনন্দের। অনেকেতো শখ করে খাতা দেখতে চাই। অনেকের কথা কি বলবো আমিও যখন ছোটবেলায় ছাত্র ছিলাম তখন আমিও খাতা দেখার জন্য খুবই উৎসাহী ছিলাম। আমি আমার দুলাভাই বোর্ড থেকে যখন খাতা নিয়ে আসতে সেগুলো নিজে দেখে দিতাম যেন খাতা দেখার ক্ষেত্রে আমার নিজের কিছুটা অভিজ্ঞতা হয়ে যায়। আর সব থেকে বেশি খাতা দেখার আগ্রহ ছিল এজন্য যেন আমি পরবর্তী সময়ে খাতা দেখেছি বলে ভাব নিতে পারি।

বর্তমান সময় আমি পেশাগতভাবে একজন শিক্ষক তাই পরীক্ষা শেষে খাতা দেখার কাজটা আমার কাছে খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটা কাজ বলে আমি মনে করি। আমি লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছি স্কুলের শিক্ষকদের মধ্যে অনেকেই রয়েছে যারা খাতা দেখার কাজটাকে বিরক্তের কাজ বলে মনে করে কিন্তু আমার কাছে সত্য কথা বলতে খাতা দেখার কাজটা খুবই ভালো লাগে। আসলে যে কোন কাজের মধ্যে যদি আনন্দ উপভোগ করা যায় তাহলে সেই কাজটা সবসময়ই ভালো লাগবে এটাই স্বাভাবিক। শুধুমাত্র খাতা দেখার ক্ষেত্রে এই যে বিষয়টা এমন তা নয় যে কোন বিষয়েই যদি আপনাদের কোন একটা কাজ করতে ভালো লাগে এবং কাজটা আপনার পছন্দের হয়ে থাকে তাহলে লক্ষ্য করে দেখবেন সে কাজটা করতে সবসময়ই অনেক বেশি ভালো লাগছে। আর কোন একটা কাজ যদি আপনার পছন্দের না হয়ে থাকে তাহলে দেখবেন যতই ভালো কাজ হোক না কেন আপনি যখনই সেটা করতে যাচ্ছেন তখনই আপনার মনের মাঝে খারাপ লাগা কাজ করছে। কোনভাবেই কাজটি করার মধ্যে মন বসছে না তাই যেকোনো কাজ করার ক্ষেত্রে সেই কাজের প্রতি ভালোবাসা এবং ভালোলাগা থাকাটা অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

এইতো যেহেতু আমাদের স্কুলের পরীক্ষার সকল কার্যক্রম শেষ হয়ে গিয়েছে আর এখন শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছে খাতা দেখার পর্ব। আমাদের স্কুলের প্রত্যেকটা ক্লাসে যদিও ছাত্র-ছাত্রীর সংখ্যা তুলনামূলকভাবে ততটা বেশি নয় কিন্তু যেহেতু আমাদের স্কুলটা একটা ক্যাডেটমুখী স্কুল তাই খাতা দেখার বিষয় আমাদের খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ করতে হয়। আমাদের স্কুলের অভিভাবকেরা অনেক সচেতন যার কারণে তারা সবসময় খাতাগুলোকে খুবই ভালোভাবে নজরে রাখে এবং আমাদেরকেও সেই ভাবেই খাতা দেখতে হয়। এতটাই পরিশমন্নভাবে আমাদেরকে খাতা গুলো দেখতে হয় যেন সেখানে কোন প্রকার ভুল লক্ষ্য করা না যায়। আর খাতা দেখার ক্ষেত্রে ভুল এড়িয়ে চলাটাই একটা শিক্ষকের জন্য খুবই বড় একটা দায়িত্ব বলে আমি মনে করি কেননা এটা যদি একজন শিক্ষক ঠিকভাবে না করতে পারে তাহলে তার শিক্ষক হবার মতো কোনো যোগ্যতাই থাকে না। শুধুমাত্র ভালো পড়াতে পারলেই যে একজন শিক্ষক আদর্শ শিক্ষক হতে পারে তা কিন্তু নয় আদর্শ শিক্ষক হতে হলে তাকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের কার্যক্রমের সাথে খুবই ভালোভাবে ভূমিকা পালন করতে পারতে হবে। যদি একজন শিক্ষক সকল বিষয়ে খুব ভালোভাবে ভূমিকা পালন করতে পারে তবেই তাকে একজন আদর্শ শিক্ষক হিসেবে গণ্য করা যেতে পারে অন্যথায়-ই সেই শিক্ষক যতই ভালো হোক না কেন তাকে সমাজের মানুষ এবং অভিভাবকেরা ভালো চোখে দেখবে না। আমি আমার নিজের বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে বলি আমি একজন শিক্ষককে লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছি যে খুবই ভালো লেখাপড়া করাতে পারতো। এমনকি তার শ্রেণীতে যে ক্লাস ছিল সেখানে ছাত্রছাত্রীরা খুবই ভালো নাম্বার পেত। কিন্তু দুঃখের বিষয় হলেও সত্য যে সেই শিক্ষক একদিন খাতা দেখার সময় ভুল করে ফেলে অর্থাৎ একজন ছাত্র-ছাত্রী যে পরিমাণে নাম্বার পাওয়ার কথা তার থেকে অনেক বেশি নাম্বার পেয়ে যাচ্ছিল। আমি লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছিলাম সেই ছাত্র বা ছাত্রী একশোর মধ্যে 110 পেয়ে যাচ্ছিল।

আর আমি লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছিলাম সেই শিক্ষক বিষয়টাকে গুরুত্বসহকারে না দেখে খাতার উপরে 110 নাম্বার দিয়ে রেখেছে। পরবর্তী সময়ে আমরা যখন প্রধান শিক্ষকের সাথে করে খাতা গুলো সমন্বয় করছিলাম তখন বিষয়টা আমাদের চোখে পড়ে। তাহলে ভাবুন একজন ভালো শিক্ষক হবার পরে যখন তিনি খাতাতে এইভাবে ভুল নাম্বার দিয়ে দেয় তাহলে সেই শিক্ষকের কি ভালো শিক্ষক হওয়ার মতো যোগ্যতা থাকে। নাকি সেই শিক্ষককে দেখলে যেকোনো মানুষ ভালো শিক্ষক বলে স্বীকার করতে পারবে। একবার ভেবে দেখুন তো যদি এই বিষয়টা অভিভাবকদের চোখের সামনে চলে আসে তাহলে অভিভাবকরা বিষয়টাকে কেমন নজরে দেখবে। তখন তো ওই শিক্ষকের যোগ্যতা নিয়ে বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রশ্ন উঠতে থাকবে। আসলে উঠতে থাকবে কি কথা এটাই স্বাভাবিক বিষয়। এজন্য একজন শিক্ষকের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ একটা কাজের মধ্যে অন্যতম কাজ আমি মনে করি খাতা দেখার কাজটা।

একই শিক্ষকের আরো একটা ঘটনা আপনাদের মাঝে শেয়ার করি তাহলে বুঝতে পারবেন সেই শিক্ষক খাতা দেখার ক্ষেত্রে কতটা অবুঝ। একটা ফাইনাল পরীক্ষার ঘটনা আপনাদের মাঝে এখন শেয়ার করব। একবার লক্ষ্য করে দেখলাম যে পঞ্চম শ্রেণীর ফাইনাল পরীক্ষাতে রেজাল্ট প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে আর সেই শিক্ষক সেই রেজাল্ট তৈরির কাজে দায়িত্ব ছিল। রেজাল্ট তৈরি করার সময় তিনি হয়তোবা এলোমেলো কোন বিষয় নিয়ে চিন্তা করেছিল অথবা যে কোনভাবে সে রেজাল্ট তৈরি করার ক্ষেত্রে নাম্বার যোগ করার ক্ষেত্রে ভুল করে ফেলেছে। পরবর্তী সময়ে আমরা লক্ষ্য করে দেখলাম রেজাল্ট তৈরি করার কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবার পরে যে ছাত্রীর প্রথম স্থান অধিকার করার কথা রয়েছে সেই ছাত্রী ফেল করে। বিষয়টা যখন রেজাল্ট প্রকাশ করা হয়ে গেল তখন ওই ছাত্রী দেখে তো কান্না শুরু করে দিল কেননা সে তো ভাবতেই পারেনি তার মত একজন ছাত্রী ফেল করে যাবে। আর রেজাল্ট পাবার পরে সেই ছাত্রী কান্না করতে করতে বাড়িতে চলে গেল।বিষয়টা আমার মাথায় ও ঢুকলো না তাই আমি প্রধান শিক্ষকের সাথে আলোচনা করলাম এটা কিভাবে সম্ভব হতে পারে। পরবর্তী সময়ে প্রধান শিক্ষকের সাহায্য নিয়ে আমি উক্ত শ্রেণীর ওই ছাত্রীর খাতা খুঁজতে শুরু করলাম যেন আমরা সঠিকভাবে ধারণা লাভ করতে পারি কেন ওই ছাত্রী ফেল করেছে। পরবর্তী সময় আমরা যখন খাতা পর্যবেক্ষণ করতে শুরু করলাম তখন দেখতে পেলাম ওই ছাত্রী খাতার মধ্যে অনেক বেশি নম্বর পেয়েছে কিন্তু ওই শিক্ষক ভুল করে খাতার উপরে এমন নাম্বার লিখে দিয়েছে যার ফলে ছাত্রী টা ফেল করে গিয়েছে।

তাহলে একবার ভেবে দেখুন ওই ছাত্রীর রেজাল্ট পাবার পরে মনের অবস্থা কেমন হয়েছিল সে ভাবতে পেরেছিল যে বাড়িতে যাবার পরে তাকে অনেক বকাবকি করা হবে। আমরা একটা বিষয় লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছি আমাদের দেশে যদি কোন ভাল ছাত্র-ছাত্রী রেজাল্ট খারাপ করে তাহলে বাবা-মা তাকে অনেক বকাবকি করে এই বিষয়টা সত্যিই অনেক খারাপ। যখন পুরো বিষয়টা প্রধান শিক্ষককে সাথে নিয়ে আমরা অনুধাবন করে দেখলাম তখন উক্ত শিক্ষকের ডেকে নিয়ে আসলাম খাতা দেখানোর জন্য। খাতা দেখার পরে উক্ত শিক্ষক তো অবাক হয়ে গেল আর বলতে শুরু করলো এটা হল কিভাবে আমি এত বড় একটা ভুল করলাম কিভাবে। পরবর্তী সময়ে আমরা আর দেরি করলাম না আমাদের স্কুলের সকল ছাত্র-ছাত্রী বাড়ি চলে যাবার পরে সকল শিক্ষক মন্ডলী ওই ছাত্রের বাড়িতে পৌঁছে গেলাম। আর ছাত্রীর বাড়িতে পৌঁছানোর পরে নতুন তৈরি করার রেজাল্ট তাদেরকে দেখিয়ে বললাম যে এই যে আপনার মেয়ে ফেল করেনি ম্যাডাম ভুল করে খাতার উপরে নাম্বার কম দিয়ে ফেলেছিল। বিষয়টা জানতে পড়ার পরে ওই ছাত্রী তো আরো বেশি কান্না শুরু করে দিয়েছিল।

আমি লক্ষ্য করে দেখেছি এর রেজাল্ট আমাদের দেশের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য খুবই সেনসিটিভ একটা বিষয়। রেজাল্ট খারাপ হওয়ার কারণে প্রত্যেক বছর অনেক ছাত্রছাত্রী আত্মহত্যা করে মৃত্যুবরণ করে। আর সেই রেজাল্ট খারাপের কারণ যদি হয় এই ধরনের শিক্ষক তাহলে একবার ভেবে দেখুন ওই ছাত্র বা ছাত্রীর মৃত্যুর জন্য প্রকৃতপক্ষে দায়ী কে। সে ছাত্র-ছাত্রী নিজের রেজাল্ট খারাপ করার জন্য দায়ী নাকি একজন শিক্ষকের অমনোযোগীতা এবং ভুল করার কারণে ছাত্রছাত্রী তার মৃত্যু হল। এজন্য আমি মনে করি একজন শিক্ষক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করার জন্য পরীক্ষার খাতা দেখাটা খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়। এজন্য আমি সব সময় চেষ্টা করি পরীক্ষার খাতা দেখার ক্ষেত্রে খুবই মনোযোগী হতে যেন সেখানে কোন ধরনের ভুল না হয়ে যায়। কেননা একটুও সামান্য অবহেলার কারণে একটা ছাত্র বা ছাত্রীর জীবন নষ্ট হয়ে যেতে পারে। এর জন্য আমি যখনই পরীক্ষার খাতা দেখতে শুরু করি তখন দীর্ঘসময় একা থাকি এবং একা একা খাতা দেখার চেষ্টা করি। একা একা খাতা দেখার ফলে নিজের মনের মাঝে অন্য ধরনের কোন চিন্তা আসে না আর অনায়াসে খুব সহজে খাতা ভালোভাবে দেখতে পারা যায়। যেহেতু একা একা খাতা দেখা হয় আর সেই সময় মাথায় অন্য কোন কাজের চাপ থাকে না তাই খাতাতে ভুল হবার সম্ভাবনা অনেকটাই কমে যায়। আমি প্রত্যেকটি খাতা দেখা শেষ হয়ে যাবার পরে যখন সাবমিট করি তখন সেগুলোকে আরো একবার ভালোভাবে চেক করে দেখে নেই যেন সেখানে আবার ভুলক্রমে কোন ধরনের ভুল না হয়ে যেতে পারে কারণ আমার এই ছোট্ট একটা ভুল হয়ে যেতে পারে অন্য একটা মানুষের সারা জীবনের কান্না।

আমার শেয়ার করা এই ঘটনাটা জানালাম মনোযোগ সহকারে পড়েছেন তারা বিষয়টা সম্পর্কে অবশ্যই আমাকে কমেন্ট করে জানাবেন। আর এই বিষয়টা সম্পর্কে আপনারা নিজেরা কে কেমন চিন্তা করেন সেটা ও আমাকে কমেন্ট করে জানাতে ভুলবেন না। এত কষ্ট করে আমার এত বড় একটা পোস্ট পুরোটা পড়ার জন্য আপনাদেরকে অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ। আজকের মত এ পর্যন্তই,পরবর্তী সময়ে আমি আপনাদের মাঝে আবারো নতুন কোন একটা সুন্দর পোস্ট নিয়ে হাজির হবার চেষ্টা করব।
