Assalamu Alaikum/Hello
Friends of my blurt space Community
I'm @fizz.vai from Bangladesh

Education has no age. Again, there is no specific medium for learning. We are constantly learning from the nature, people, environment around us. There are many things to learn in this classroom. It's hard to tell when and how much you'll learn from anyone.

Each of us is good at something. So if we all share what we know from our own position then many can benefit from this knowledge. With this aim Blurt space Community I am writing a series called educational where I share what I know. Those who did not know these things before, hope they will benefit.

A few words about security:

Personal security or account security is very important nowadays. As we live in this age of technology where everything from our bank accounts to social media is controlled by passwords, it is easy to understand the importance of security in all online activities. We are largely dependent on gadgets and carry out daily activities including many transactions online. That's why various sites suggest us to give strong passwords so that hackers can't hack.

Due to the excellence of technology, everything will be controlled through fingerprint, retina scan, face recognition or password. Signing or writing as before will be reduced a lot. And in the case of Steemit or blogging, the security issue is a bit more complicated because if someone gets the password here, then there is no specific authority for you to whom you can complain and bring back your assets or your account.

Being a blockchain technology and decentralizing it, there is no central authority to whom you can claim account ownership or your wallet. So account security is more important in this case.

If you make a small mistake knowingly or a small mistake can cause you a lot of damage. Maybe you have developed your account slowly and painstakingly for a long time or accumulated a lot of currencies but due to one small mistake hackers can take over or you can lose it yourself.

Therefore, before working on any platform, it is very important to know the security details of that platform very well. And if it's Steemit, there's nothing to say. Today let's discuss Steemit account security issues in detail so that those who don't know about it can at least benefit.

Account Key:

When we have an account on Steemit, a password is generated while creating that account or we give a password which is called master password. This is very important which I have discussed below. But beyond that we are given different types of keys to perform different tasks.

We can first divide Key into two parts.

Public key and
private key
These are again of four types

Posting Key
Active Key
Owner Key
Memo Key
Public key:
Public keys are actually public keys that you don't need to store. This key may be required to encrypt data on the blockchain and this key is open to all

Private Key:

Private keys are very important to you and private keys are layered in different ways. That is, the function of each key is limited to a certain limit so that only the key that is needed for the task can be used.

Posting key:

You can only use this key for social activities. That is, you can do things like post, comment, vote with this key. No other work can be done with this key. Since wallet functions can be done with this key, it is the least sensitive of the keys. That is, you should not be too hesitant to use this key on any web site because with this key, someone may be able to vote from your account, comment but not be able to do your wallet related tasks.

That is, when you do social activities, you will use this key and this key is only limited to social activities, but let's take a look at what you can do with this key:

Post and comment
Editing posts and comments
Upvote and downvote
Resteem any post
Follow and unfollow someone
Mute any unwanted accounts

Active key:

With this key you can do your financial tasks i.e. if you want to do any transaction then you must need this key. So understand how sensitive this is. Always avoid using this key anywhere other than a trusted website because if someone gets hold of your active key it is possible for them to empty your wallet instantly. If you have liquid in your wallet from blurt then it can be transferred instantly with this key. Since it takes time (four weeks) to power down if powered up, if someone powers down using your key, you'll be able to see and have account recovery and password change time. You'll lose liquids in no time. Let's take a look at what you can do with this key:

Transfer work.
Power up and power down.
Witness voting
Placement of buy and sell orders on any exchange
Change some information in profile
Creating new users etc.

Owner key:

As the name suggests, this is a kind of proprietary key, meaning that if you want to prove your ownership here on the blockchain, this is the key you will need. This key will help you recover one of your keys or recover your account if your key is lost or your account is hacked. Whoever has this key can claim ownership of the account. So as this key is essential for other key recovery, this key is definitely very sensitive and you should write it down carefully in a separate place or backup it very well.

This will allow you to recover your active key even if it is lost. Otherwise you will not be able to recover your keys or account. So this is your key document as required document to claim ownership. Let's take a look at what you can do with this key:

You can reset your, active and posting keys
You can recover the account
Can deny voting rights.

Master Password:

The master password is the most sensitive key to your account that you receive when you open your account or that you generate yourself. Never give your master password to anyone. All the keys discussed above are basically generated based on your master password. So it is possible to complete the operation of all the keys with the master password.

It will be easy to understand if I give a small example. You will see in chess game that you can move directly left and right with the pawn or boat and you can move as far as you want with Konakuni in any direction with the elephant. But with Minister you can go as far as you want in all directions.

If we talk about the master password here, then you can do horse work with it, that is, this master password is the head of all your keys. So the most sensitive and important thing for you is to save your master password very well.

The ones we have discussed earlier are Keys and now the one we have discussed is Passwords. You understand there is a difference between the two. All keys are generated based on your master password so master password is very important for you. You can activate all keys with master password.

How to find your keys:

To find the keys you go to Steemit and from Steemit to your wallet. And you know the wallet must be logged in with the active key.

As you can see blurt.blog above it means it is a trusted website where you can provide any kind of keys that will not be stored. If your browser has saved it, it is your browser's responsibility to set it yourself.

How you can stay safe:

Many may have been very nervous by now that so many security issues have to be kept in mind? How can I work here with so many things in mind? My wallet can be empty anytime. Actually there is no need to panic here but you have to be careful. Some things should always be kept in mind. I am sharing with you some such points in brief.

First, regardless of the browser you access your wallet from, you will always work with your posting key. Since you will always do social activities, it is enough for you to use posting key. And if you ever need to work on your wallet or make a transaction, then you will login from a specific device with a trusted browser and log out after the work is done. You may avoid using active keys anywhere. You can complete almost all your activities with the posting key.

Second, you should never keep your keys on your mobile phone or computer. Because if your mobile phone or computer is hacked or goes under someone's control, then he will get your key or password. Suppose you put these keys as a PDF file on your computer or mobile phone and your mobile phone is lost, stolen or stolen for some reason. But then whoever gets your phone can use these keys to do all the work. So the wisest thing to do is to keep a backup online in any trusted place and also write it down very well in your home ledger or in a safe place (eg in your diary or other safe place). And note that without writing down all the passwords in one place, keep the most important one (master password) in a very safe place, then keep it, then the active key as a backup and save it as a convenience. You will always pay attention to the master password, his key.

Thirdly, when entering the key to a site, you must pay attention to the address bar because those who do phishing or steal your password can share the link with you. Do not enter the link in any way.

Fourth, you should always check if your password is saved by going to the browser settings. Sometimes cache or cookies will delete them and start again. Passwords are often stolen with various extensions or plugins. So avoid using extensions without a trusted source. Unnecessary extensions can be removed or disabled. However, if you see a phishing link, avoid clicking on it. Even then, if any spy software i.e. spyware monitors your browsing activity, then it is unfortunate for you because since he is watching all your activities, he can see your password at any time. And for this reason, if you refrain from clicking on unwanted sites and links, you can stay away from this problem. Turn off unnecessary internet connection.

Fifth, check if your recovery account is fine. I will provide a tutorial on recovery and password change which will give you a better idea on this, hopefully.

Finally, the thing is, you don't keep any liquid blur in your wallet but keep it powered up. If you want to keep liquid then keep it in savings wallet from where it will take 3 days to pay withdraw. You can check notifications or activity when someone powers down or wants to remove from savings. So you will be able to know if someone got your account password.

Keeping these things in mind may save you all the trouble and keep your account and keys safe. Still, if you have any new suggestion, then you must tell it here in the comment box. I will try to edit the post and add it.

Last word:

With the advancement of technology we are becoming modern day by day and new technologies are coming to us. Rather than being afraid of technology, it is wise to adapt to it by knowing its pros and cons. So we will keep up with the technology and be cautious in our work so that our hard work doesn't go to waste in an instant. Good luck to all and hope you all stay safe and work here and end here for today.

Below are links to my previous posts in the educational series. If you like it, you can take a look at them. Hope you benefit. thank you

My request to the team @megadrive @saboin @angelica7 @nabeeel @zahidsun If you help me I can play an important role in eliminating unemployment and at the same time bring many investors to this platform. Due to which this platform will become more popular among people.
