Introduction:

For those of us who work in the virtual world or blogging world, notifications are very important because we always check our notifications and reply accordingly. There are many people who are very particular about notifications, i.e. want to check any notification, and I myself am very much like that. Be it necessary or unnecessary, I always check notifications regardless of the platform. This often leads to waste of time and valuable time by checking many unwanted and unnecessary notifications. That's why I turn off notifications on most social media other than Steemit and only check notifications when I have time. Today I am sharing something about unwanted mentions and notifications so that everyone can be a bit careful about this.

Part 4: What and why to avoid unwanted and unnecessary mentions

Unnecessary Mention:

We sometimes see moderators and admins mentioned in various posts on blurt. Giving this mention is not bad but giving mentions again and again without any need is very annoying because admins are already very busy so I think it is very difficult for them to check many such notifications. The purpose of us mentioning something to someone is to inform him about that matter and that matter is very much needed by him so bring him to his attention by mentioning him very well.

But recently I see admins and moderators being mentioned at the end of some posts. I will call such mentions 'Unwanted and Unnecessary' mentions because creating a notification for the person I am mentioning is a very annoying task by mentioning something that is not strictly necessary for him. Mention should be given to someone only when the matter is really important to him and we want to draw attention to him.

# Why should you avoid unwanted mentions?: If we think that every post should be read by our admins and if we all mention the admins in every post then the admins don't have to do any more work, they just check our notifications. So you understand that they are already very busy and when many users will just mention them for no reason then the notifications will become much less important to them. And sometimes important things will be overlooked.

Many people who are doing this work may be new and may not understand so I want to tell everyone from my personal experience and understanding that you should not give mention to anyone who is unwanted and without any need. The admins here already check every post and select posts from there and send them for curation, so there is no need for you to increase importance with separate mentions because if you give such unwanted mentions again and again, the tendency of your post to be selected will decrease a lot. As you can understand from the discussion that I have done a little earlier, this is a very annoying thing.

When Mention should be given::

Mentioners need to keep in mind a few things, such as whether or not you really want to draw someone's attention to something. Secondly, if you make a post that is absolutely awesome and a very good quality post, which is not like curation is missed, you can mention one of the admins, but I don't think you should do that because admins check every post and skip your post. There is no way to go. Also you can DM this post directly to any of the moderators on the 6th day so you should never mention your post being missed.

However, sometimes you can mention the post that is very important to you and you have made it with a lot of time, but sometimes it can be in one or two posts after a long time. Nale mentions can also be called a form of spamming if a specific person is mentioned in each post. The quality of a post actually varies from person to person because one person may consider a post to be a quality post but this post may not be quality to another person. It depends on who likes what and who likes what.

So since quality is relative and subjective, you can't think too much of quality in your posts because it depends on what other people like. And in that case you may think all your posts are quality posts. So it will never be appropriate to mention admins in all your posts. So if you have done something extraordinary in any post or have put a lot of effort then sometimes you can give mention in those posts otherwise I don't find any justification to create a boring situation with mention.
