Arhar is a type of dal seed. Its English name is pigeon pea. Scientific name is Cajanus Cajan. Arhar herb is a perennial plant. The leaves are slightly long and the head is shaped. The flowers are yellow, the seeds are small round. The fruit is similar in shape to a small curry fruit, but slightly flattened. It grows in any soil.

Cultivation:

Around 44.9 lakh tonnes of arhar dal is produced worldwide. About 63% of this production is produced in India. In Bangladesh, most of the arhar is cultivated in Kushtia, Rangpur, Dinajpur and Jessore districts. Its seeds ripen around February-March. The seeds should be sown in April-May i.e. before monsoon.

Expansion:

Arhar dal is native to Bombay, Madras, United Pradesh, Myanmar, Central India, and cultivated in Bengal and Assam. It is also cultivated in North Bengal of Bangladesh.Arhar dal is most commonly used in India, our neighboring country. Most of the people like this dal very much. This very tasty dal is prepared in various ways. For example: Aahar dal khichuri, Aahar daul is made. These pulses contain iron, folic acid, magnesium, calcium, vitamin B, potassium etc. This dal helps to keep your body healthy and strong. Pulses are higher in protein than meat, and are readily available at low cost, so pulses are called the poor man's meat.

Arhar is a crop whose seed is planted twice a year and yields a minimum of 5,000 and a maximum of 15,000 seeds. This protein-rich pulse is sold at a higher price than other pulses in India. Leaves will match l Maintain a distance of 7 to 10 feet from tree to tree l.
