THE NIGHT I SURVIVED

The young man stood on the edge of the cliff, looking out over the vast expanse of the valley below. The city was still asleep, shrouded in darkness. The only light came from the stars and the moon, which hung low in the sky.

The air was cool and crisp, and the young man could hear the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. He took a deep breath, savoring the peace and tranquility of the moment.

But then, he saw something out of the corner of his eye. It was a movement, a flash of something in the shadows. He turned to look, but there was nothing there.

He shook his head and turned back to the city. But now, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched. He scanned the darkness, but there was nothing to see.

He told himself that he was just being paranoid. After all, there was nothing out here but trees and bushes. But still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

He took another deep breath and tried to relax. But then, he heard it again. The sound of something moving in the bushes.

This time, he didn't turn away. He stood there, frozen, as the bushes parted and a figure stepped out.

The figure was tall and slender, with long, dark hair. Its eyes were glowing red in the darkness.

The young man's heart started to race. He knew that he was in danger, but he couldn't move. He was paralyzed with fear.

The figure took a step towards him. The young man could see its sharp teeth and claws.

He tried to scream, but no sound came out.

But then, he heard a voice.

"Run!"

The young man opened his eyes and saw a woman standing behind the figure. She was holding a torch, and the flames were reflected in her eyes.

The woman raised the torch and the figure screamed. It turned and ran into the darkness.

The young man watched as the figure disappeared into the night. Then, he turned to the woman.

"Thank you," he said.

The woman smiled. "You're welcome," she said. "I'm glad I could help."

He turned and walked away, leaving the figure and the woman behind. But he knew that he would never forget what he had seen that night.
