It's the weekend once again and weekends means Caturday, my favorite day of the week to post cat pictures!

Missed a Few...

I'm afraid I just haven't been very good about posting over here and finding enough time to put up Caturday posts. I'm a little bit sad about that because I had really good intentions, but you probably know how the old saying goes: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions!"

But at least I can re-start now, particularly since the days are shorter and there is more time for indoor activities... like writing and blogging!

Anyway, today is not only the last Caturday in October, it is also the last Caturday before Halloween!

We black cats are often regarded as a symbol of Halloween, but the old mythology about us being bad luck and bringing misfortune? That is definitely superstition! There's also nothing evil about black cats, we are loyal and sweet companions just like all other cats.

It's good to have a warm belly!

In fact, in olden times, black cats were view as good fortune among sailors who believed that having a black ship's cat would help calm the ocean and grant safe passage. A black cat attached to an Inn or Hostalry was also considered good luck, as a bringer of many guests!

All in all, not a lot of new things have happened around here. The Hoomans are getting busy with their "arts and crafts season," which means there are lots of little things laid out on tables that I can get into! I still don't understand why they don't appreciate my help!

Smudge, enjoying a bit of sunshine!

Smudge is Doing Well!

Smudge — my very fuzzy housemate — is doing well even in her old age and we are coming up on the 2-year mark of when she came to live with us.

As you might remain remember, Smudge was an elderly cat whose Hooman was moving out of the country to the Dominican Republic, and we agreed to take her in and let her live out her old age with us. Interestingly enough she actually seems to be healthier now than when she first came to stay with us! She will turn 17 years old around Valentine's Day next year!

Blurt Rising?

And last but not least, it has certainly been nice to see the broader crypto markets — and even our own Blurt token — increase slightly in value following up the recent uptick in Bitcoin. I was looking back across my Blurt account history to the earlier days and was recalling how Blurt used to be measured in terms of several cents per token, rather than fractions of cents. Maybe we can get back to that sometime in the not too distant future!
