Hello all you fine Felines and Hoomans in the world of Blurt!
It has been quite a while since I've been around these parts, but I thought I would check back in and maybe try to get back on a regular schedule of making posts for Caturday!
Poking around in the Hoomans' crafts area!
I was actually here a couple of days ago as part of a general "house cleaning" process of visiting old forums and blogging sites, and as part of that I remembered that my ALT account from Steemit also has an account here on Blurt.
So I cleaned that up a bit and actually made a post over there and as part of that I learned that there's actually a new(?) front end for Blurt called "BeBlurt," and there's even a Caturday community, headed up by long time cat content supporter (and Blurt witness) @saboin! Very cool!
My fuzzy housemate Smudge, enjoying her sunny spot!
So far, I am very impressed with BeBlurt; far more modern and full-featured than the basic traditional Graphene blockchain content interface.
So, posting cat pictures?
Personally, I'm biased of course, I think posting pictures of cats is more meaningful than posting pictures of your lunch because at least I can make the argument that cats have become The Unofficial Mascots of the Internet, as well as the fact that Caturday is definitely a real thing that has been around and been celebrated since some of the early days on the image boards back on the 4chan forum.
Not that I should have to justify my reasons for making blog post, though...
Love my sunshine!
I had no idea whether anything is actually going on with Blurt in terms of development and keeping the site growing, so I was very happy to find BeBlurt!
I think I would like to continue to be part of the Blurt story and so I intend to keep my paw in the door, so to speak... and participate in the primary way I know how to do with this blog, which is to post pictures of cats and occasionally write some commentary.
I'm not even put off by the fact that it does cost a little to publish words out here. I think that's a good thing in the sense that it cuts down on all the meaningless spam that people would otherwise flock here to post. Scams and spam are not exactly my preferred reading online!
Taking the sun in the Mom-Hooman's office!
Meanwhile, my fuzzy housemate Smudge is doing quite well. She's enjoying her old age with us, and she likes summer when it's warmer and not as hard on her old bones. She actually turned 16 just before Easter, which is pretty old for a cat!
But she's in good health, even though cataracts are are starting to interfere with her eyesight.
Smudge in the kitchen, looking for her dinner!
Well, I guess that's about enough for this update so I am going to draw the line here and end for this time but I hope to be back more frequently from this point forward!
And if anybody is still reading and curating animal and cat posts, I certainly appreciate that you stopped by and saw this!

No. 50 of many more to come!
All images are my own!
Dear @curatorcat, your content was selected manually by curators @ten-years-before, @nalexadre to receive a curation from BeBlurt 🎉
Thanks for the support @beblurt! Just discovered the BeBlurt interface a couple of days ago... great job!

Yeah. We have communities on Blurt now. At the moment, BeBlurt is the only frontend that has the community features.
I'm working on the backend and soon also the blurt.blog frontend to integrate community features there as well.
I was planning on building a new frontend for the official website, but I haven't been able to get to that yet.
I have received a lot of help from both @nalexadre and @techcoderx with developing and setting up the backend to support communities. I would recommend to vote for their witnesses as well as mine, since without them, there probably wouldn't be communities on Blurt.
I'm glad to see you on Blurt as well as Hive. I'm looking forward to your future content as well as others' cat-related content.
I have the @caturday.curator running here on Blurt (it's the same software that I've been running on Hive since 2020). I'm using it to test the Nexus backend (Nexus is the backend service that handles communities).
To date, BeBlurt is already my favorite interface I've seen across all the chains; nice layout, visually appealing, loads super fast. Still a few minor glitches here and there and perhaps a couple more features that would be nice... but I'm sure it's a work in progress!
I did approve @nalexadre and @techcoderx's witnesses, on your recommendation.
Really nice to see a Caturday community, along with some new development.
The combination of the very straightforward joinblurt.com signup site with a user interface like BeBlurt and niche communities definitely goes a long way towards creating the framework needed to potentially build Blurt into something more than an outpost with a handful of dedicated users. Glad to see it!

Thanks a lot for the support and your words about BeBlurt 😊 Still a lot of things in the pipe, from the start I had planned about 1 year to have something complete, I think that in September we will not be very far from the image I had of BeBlurt when I thought of it.
I definitely think you have the bones of something really good here; a solid foundation to add features to, as we go along!
