The conclusion of the lockdown approached, and as it neared its end, public transportation gradually resumed its services. Buses were once again traversing the roads, and ships set sail anew. In light of this, staying at the Hostel in Split, we agreed that it was opportune to embark on a final day trip before my onward journey. My next adventure was set to begin by ship, and just before that, three of us grouped up and devised a plan for a hike to Omis castle.

Using a bus from Split, we arrived at Omis, a charming coastal town. Early that morning, we sought out a cafe for some coffee, mentally preparing ourselves for the uphill trek to the fortress. Personally, I was unaware of how steep the climb would be, with the hike encompassing the first 50% uphill and the remaining 50% downhill.

It proved to be a challenge, a struggle against myself, as the ascent was exhausting. Each time I believed I had reached the summit, the path seemed to ascend even further. However, we eventually reached the fortress, presenting us with a breathtaking view that I thoroughly savored. After capturing some photos and taking a moment to relax, we commenced our descent. The beginning was pleasant, but as time passed, I pondered which was more taxing for hiking—uphill or downhill. I did slip a few times, but all went well, and everyone safely descended to the town.

We strolled around the town, visiting some churches, before heading to the beach to eat and enjoy some soda, while awaiting the bus to return to Split. Later, we made our way to the bus stop, took the bus back to Split, and returned to the Hostel. This marked my final excursion around Split; I needed to start packing for the upcoming ship journey, which would lead to new adventures in a few days.

Regarding Omis:
Omis, the coastal town we explored, is nestled by the sea and offers a picturesque setting. It's renowned for its historical Omis Fortress, perched atop a hill, providing a captivating panoramic view of the town and its surroundings. Additionally, Omis boasts quaint churches and a charming beach, making it a destination rich in both natural beauty and historical allure.
