Este es uno de los atractivos historicos de la cuidad de cumana, está justamente al lado de la Basilica Santa Inés, este castillo actualment está en ruinas, puesto que el terremoto de 1797 causó daños a su estructura dejándolo un poco inhabitable. Después, sobre sus ruinas se construye para 1800, la iglesia de la Virgen del Carmen reemplazando a la antigua Ermita del Carmen.
Este día estaba paseando con mi amiga y me detuvé a observar esta edificación en ruinas, pero aún consrvada y considera patrimonio cultural de la cuidad.
