At noon today, I went to the market in Trang city. Today, I took the opportunity to visit Wat Khlong Nam Chet, which is a very beautiful temple.

Today is my first time visiting a temple. When I drove into the temple, I parked in front of the church because there were other cars parked there. There was also a funeral inside the temple. There were many people wearing black. So I walked around taking pictures outside the building. I will tell you the history that I found on the internet about this temple.

History of Wat Khlong Nam Chet

Wat Khlong Nam Chet is a temple of the people, belonging to the Mahanikaya sect.

It is located in Thap Thiang Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province. The temple is located in a lowland surrounded by a canal, covering an area of ​​approximately 7 rai.

This temple is located next to a canal, making the atmosphere shady and very quiet. It is very suitable for coming to relax and make merit.

Wat Khlong Nam Chet was built on April 5, 1777, during the Thonburi period, with Phra Khao as the first abbot. Later, the temple received the royal charter and the Sima in 1907.

The bell tower of Wat Khlong Nam Chet looks outstanding with its Thai architecture. The roof is painted orange, contrasting perfectly with the white beams. The surrounding area looks clean, pleasing to the eye, and shady with trees and a river on the side, which helps to add freshness to the temple.

Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya

At the entrance of the temple, the first thing that greeted me was the elegance of Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya standing. The standing Buddha image holds an umbrella and a large cane, which is placed on the ground as a companion at the entrance of the temple.

In addition to the beauty of the Buddha statue, there is also a very beautiful pavilion at the back, so I walked over to take some pictures.

At the entrance of Wat Khlong Nam Chet, apart from Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya, which was mentioned earlier, there is another interesting corner, which is the resting area. This area looks very shady. There is a pavilion and a large Buddha statue at the back. This area is a resting area. There are benches and seats arranged in a suitable way. There is also a small garden in the shade of a large tree. I walked to collect clothes in that area. There was another pavilion which was very beautiful. Inside the pavilion, there was a large Buddha statue enshrined with offerings prepared for it. Placed in that area

I walked to the front of the church because I was going to take a picture. It turned out that I saw chickens standing at the fence of the church. There were many chickens. They were small and short with beautiful colors. I took the real picture. And these chickens seemed to like it. When I took the picture, they stood to let me take the picture like models. I thought that there must be people taking pictures here often. They didn't seem afraid of the camera at all.

There is a staircase leading down to the riverside at the canal area next to the temple. There is a sign indicating that this area is a sanctuary.

This area is a building that stores the boats that are being pulled by the Buddha image. And this is the boat that has not been decorated yet.

I walked around to take another picture and this picture was taken by my wife. I was going to take pictures inside the building but I was too shy because there was a funeral inside. So I walked to take pictures at the church.

This is the inner wall. In front is a tunnel like a doorway to the church. When I walked through the inside, I found a wall. The church here uses the merit wall to store the ashes. Around the wall, I took pictures of this area and also took pictures of the large square pillar. I assume that this large pillar is probably used to enshrine the boundary stones around the church.
