Tod Pha Pa Samakki
Hello everyone
Today, my wife and I had the opportunity to join the Tod Pha Pa Samakki at Wat Phraisan
which is a temple located in Na Taluang Subdistrict, Mueang Trang District, Trang Province. Today’s event was attended by many villagers and devotees from many villages.
I brought my Canon camera with me and took my daughter to see the atmosphere of the Tod Pha Pa Samakki. When I arrived, my wife dressed up as a dancer, while my relatives and I helped move the speakers from the school to the temple. We moved them by a cart because there were quite a few cars today, making it quite difficult to get in or out because there would be performances from various villages soon, so we had to turn on music.
When the faithful from many villages gradually arrived, everyone headed straight to the pavilion to listen to the sermon. The united phaapaa offering is an important tradition in Buddhism. It is a gathering of the villagers' faith to make merit in order to use the money to renovate the temple or help the temple in various ways. Today's phaapaa offering of Wat Phraisan was held to raise funds or money to maintain the temple and develop it to progress.
The atmosphere inside the temple was lively with locals and devotees continuously coming together for the merit-making ceremony. Everyone had bright smiles on their faces and one of the activities that we intended to do today was to cook food for the participants. My relatives and I worked together to cook the food with great care. There was a delicious spicy instant noodle salad and stir-fried pork intestines or stir-fried pork intestines. We prepared the equipment and utensils from home and set them up in the temple courtyard. So I took a photo as a souvenir of the atmosphere where everyone helped cook today. It was a very impressive image. Everyone helped each other.
In addition to the cooking activities, there were many other activities in the event, such as beautiful dance performances from 2-3 villages. When the time came, the monks finished chanting, and it was time for the performance. The dancers started from my village, then the next village, and the next village until all the villages were complete. I walked around the area with my camera, trying to capture as many images as possible. When I took the photos before writing the post, I probably sat and looked at the photos, they didn't come out very well, probably because of the rain that was pouring down.
It's time for the Manora performance. The beauty and grace have begun. The sound of drums and cymbals echoed throughout the temple. Everyone rushed to the temple hall to watch the Manora. I also rushed to take pictures with the beauty.
I think today's Manora performance is a performance that is hard to find nowadays. It is a performance that combines the art of dancing in a graceful and beautiful way.
Manora performance
That creates fun and smiles for the participants
I have captured these beautiful Manora performances to share with my friends. I hope my friends will enjoy them and experience the beauty of the southern folk performing arts.
While the Manora performance was going on happily and joyfully, suddenly it started to rain or raindrops, causing the attendees to quickly run to the pavilion to take shelter from the rain. This was an unexpected event, but it was a good opportunity for people to get closer to each other. Everyone found a place to sit and chat in a friendly manner, while I walked around the temple to take pictures. Today I saw many impressive pictures. Today I must take my leave. I would like to thank everyone who followed and watched the stories and pictures from the united Kathina ceremony at Wat Phraisan today. I hope that all my friends had fun, happiness, and merit to take home.
