Let's go see the shadow puppet museum at Wat Khanon.

Hello friends, today I would like to take you to see the Wat Khanon shadow puppet museum. After I mentioned it many times but never posted the actual place for you to see, today I would like to recommend a tourist attraction that is closest to my home, which is about three kilometers away. Before I came here, I had heard of this temple before, but I never thought that I would come and visit it so often. On important religious days, my family and I would make merit at this temple. My wife’s ancestors were also related to this temple. I am from the southern part of Thailand. After I met my wife and got married, I moved to Ratchaburi.

The Wat Khanon shadow puppet museum is located in the temple grounds, which is a wooden house built to store shadow puppet characters that have been passed down for over 100 years. Inside the temple, there is the Wat Khanon School, which has elementary school students. Students here have the opportunity to study shadow puppetry, and many of them have worked at the temple for many generations and have had the opportunity to travel to perform abroad, such as in India and Japan.

In the temple area, there is a coffee shop that serves tourists. There are also T-shirts printed with shadow puppetry patterns for sale as souvenirs. If you come in a group, there will be a show for you to watch in the building that was built for the performance for tourists to watch. Or if you come on Saturday or Sunday, there will be a small market area next to the riverside with local food from the villagers for sale to tourists.
