The last day of worship during the Chinese New Year festival

Hello everyone.
Last night was another day that the Chinese people worshipped the gods on the last night of the Chinese New Year. My husband's family is Chinese, so I saw the ceremony and participated in it. We prepared fruits, incense, candles, and paper for burning. There were also firecrackers and fireworks that we would use tonight. The time to worship the gods tonight will be midnight, which is the start of the new day. Around midnight, people from each household came out to do activities together in harmony and joy. They all worshiped the gods together and then had fun together by lighting incense sticks and firecrackers to welcome the new things. My family is just a small family, so my sister's and younger sister's families went to join the activity together today, so there were only my mother-in-law and my family of 4. In Chinese families, if a woman gets married and goes out to her husband's house during this kind of festival, she will not often come back home except to come back to eat together.

My daughter is afraid of the sound of firecrackers and I am worried about her because I am afraid that she will be shocked and get hurt. Because sometimes the sound of firecrackers is louder than the sound of people and it is not only my house. The neighbors also light firecrackers after they have finished praying to the gods. Sometimes I see my daughter so scared that she cries, which makes me feel sorry for her. I can only hug and comfort her and explain to her that because it is a Chinese cultural tradition, we must accept it. And I have taught my daughter to put cotton in her ears to help reduce the noise, even if it is not much, it is better than doing nothing. After my daughter finished praying to the gods, I took my daughter upstairs to her room to sleep at almost 2 am.. and this is my activity that I have brought to share with my friends today.
