Hello Blurtians! Welcome back!
It's a common misconception that Mexico is one of the most DANGEROUS countries in the world. I lived here for six years now and it is the country I have spent the most time in out of all others, without moving.
In this post I'd like to share some photos of a day in the life of living in Guerrero, in my community and why there maybe isn't a man with a machete behind every bush!
Many have been convinced about how vicious this place could be, but have you ever noticed that the people who say this have never actually visited?
It was the same with my grandma, who lives in Germany and she really wanted to come and see her granddaughters, but hesitated for quite awhile. I don't know just what she was thinking, as if her daughter and granddaughters were surviving for dear life in a jungle or something, but at last we convinced her to come over with grandpa to the scary country!
The moment they stepped into the country we invited them to the beach, pools and restaurants to show them around. It seems like they were happy to get away, since Mexico is a MUCH freer country than Germany. It is true that in Mexico money talks and you can get anything done with money. Actually, my family doesn't know if permits even exist around where we live.
You might be thinking, that without permits, it would be chaos! That isn't true, all it is, is that mexicans don't like people ruling too much over them. In fact, they are some of the nicest people you'll find! They always look for ways to help others, they know how to have fun, (if you're a party animal, you should come over, seriously), they love music and most importantly, they value family very much.
Also, my grandparents, had the greatest time here. Back in Germany, my grandpa wasn't getting much healthier and once they came here, they felt much better with the sunshine and the beautiful ocean Acapulco has to offer!
The one, most important rule here out of anything is, don't compete with the cartel.... be a nice person, of course, if you're in a poorer neighborhood, try not to walk out alone at night. If you can do that, I think you'll be welcomed in open arms!
Now, let's enjoy some nice photos of the simplicity of my community. I hope you enjoy!
I heard that what you see here is the dead shell of a cicada when they shed their skin. You can find them here and there and sometimes they're kinda creepy, but not to fear! 😂😂
Right now it seems to be a vacation season, so many people are coming to have fun at some of the waterslides this weekend! :)
