This morning, we sprang from our beds with an urgency, knowing we had a task at hand. My husband needed to renew his visa, an errand that took us to the Immigration Office not far from Saphan Hin Public Park.

As we set off, the sky greeted us with its vibrant, cerulean hue, adorned with fluffy white clouds that seemed to trail behind us on our journey. I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement every time I looked up, beholding this unblemished expanse.

With each passing mile, my anticipation grew, fueled by the boundless optimism that only a sky so clear and blue could inspire. As we approached the Immigration Office, I couldn't shake the feeling that today held something special, something beyond the ordinary tasks we were about to undertake.

When we got there, the parking lot was packed with cars, all here for one thing or another. We lucked out and found a spot just as someone was leaving.

As we stepped out of the Immigration Bureau building, our eyes were met with an unexpected sight. Four quaint white pavilions stood against the backdrop of the radiant sky. These pavilions, it seemed, were a haven for both locals and tourists, providing a space to sit and wait, shielded from the sun's scorching rays or rain's unrelenting pattern. It was rightly dubbed the "relaxation corner."

This area, we learned, had once been the abode of dedicated civil servants of the Immigration Bureau. However, recent times had seen a remarkable transformation. What was once living quarters had undergone a careful renovation, emerging as a sanctuary, complete with a cozy café.

After exiting the bureau, we decided to step into the charming little café. It was snug but exuded a certain charm. The glass cases were brimming with an assortment of delectable pastries. For me, it had to be the green tea – a personal favorite. Meanwhile, a croissant, adorned with caramel drizzle and macadamia nuts, was too tempting to pass up.

Around 1:00 p.m., we made our way back to the office, finding our seats and awaiting our turn. The minutes ticked by, but patience held its ground. Finally, our queue was called. The document check, a relatively swift affair, brought our visit to a close.

With a renewed visa secured, we left the bureau behind, carrying with us the memory of that tranquil interlude at the café. It turned out, this day held more than bureaucratic errands; it was woven with moments of unexpected delight and a touch of relaxation in the midst of duty.
