Hello everyone! 🌊
Today was one of those days when I finally managed to get out of the house! 😅 After persistently begging my husband for days (he’s been so busy with work), we finally found a good day for a little escape. Lately, he’s been following travel pages, dreaming of a break from his never-ending tasks. Honestly, his job is so demanding that he often falls asleep the moment his head hits the pillow.
Where I’m taking you all? 🤔 To Blue Tree Phuket, just 6 kilometers from my home. It’s the latest hotspot for relaxation and entertainment – the first-ever entertainment complex of its kind in Phuket! With the massive Blue Tree Lagoon, imported all the way from the USA, this place spans a whopping 140 rai, about 22.4 hectares – that’s huge! And offers a variety of activities for everyone. 🏝️
I first visited before the pandemic, back when the construction wasn’t even finished. The entry price back then was quite high, so I decided to skip it – my frugal side won that day! 🤭 Now, with the pandemic's impact, the prices have become much more reasonable. There’s a promotion: 4 people for the price of 3, with tickets at 350 baht each (around $10 USD), making it 1,050 baht for four. Or you can opt for the package that includes a meal for 650 baht per person. 🍽️
The complex is based on an entertainment concept, featuring a variety of relaxation zones and a wide range of water sports activities. There’s a stunning 4-story beach club, a fitness zone, a kids’ club, and 17 different dining options, from high-end restaurants to more affordable choices. There’s even a small shopping area to explore! 🛍️
After we paid, the staff gave us wristbands with a chip inside. It’s used for everything – entry, lockers, and even turning on the water attractions. If you don’t have a wristband, you can’t use any of the facilities. It felt pretty high-tech, which was impressive! 🏷️
Before jumping into the water, I had my husband take a photo. I gave him strict instructions: “Make sure I look fabulous, with long legs and a slim face.” His response? “You better take it yourself then!” 😅 He just doesn’t understand women sometimes! As long as the photo looks good, I’m happy – who cares about reality, right?
Kids’ zone
The first area we explored was the kids’ zone, filled with water slides and fountains. Kids naturally love water, and my son was no exception. He was in his element here, having the time of his life! 🏄♂️
In the past, I used to enjoy the rides meant for adults, but these days, I stick to the kiddie ones. Maybe I’m just getting older! 😅 The higher the ride, the scarier it seems now. Even a simple enclosed slide for kids had me feeling claustrophobic and nervous – it was dark inside, and I couldn’t see a thing! I managed to try it just once, then decided to stick to the more relaxed activities. 😂
Blue Tree Lagoon
Next up is the heart of Blue Tree Phuket – the incredible Blue Tree Lagoon! This massive lagoon-style pool spans an astonishing 1,700 square meters (about 18,000 square feet). It’s huge, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by a picturesque artificial beach. The first thing you’ll notice is the vast space and the stunning design – it’s like a little slice of paradise! 🏖️
There are so many activities here! So now it's time for the rope swing across the lagoon. I decided to skip the daring activities (I’m taking it easy these days 😅), but my eldest son jumped right in and did it twice. He said it was so much fun!
Then there’s the Slip N Fly slide, which offers different levels of height and excitement. My son gave it a try, but his landing wasn’t the most graceful, and he ended up a bit sore – just one round for him! 😅 We also explored the splash zone, which was a wild experience. Both my son and I took a turn, and let me tell you, my heart was pounding! One round was more than enough for me. 😂
There are plenty more activities at Blue Tree, including rock climbing, though I didn’t get a chance to snap a photo of it. My eldest son was unstoppable – he tried almost every activity that was open. 🧗♂️
This next shot is a bird’s-eye view of the lagoon. You can see the crystal-clear blue water, but unfortunately, the sky was quite hazy because of the high PM 2.5 levels yesterday. The air quality in Phuket was in the red zone, so the sky wasn’t as bright and sunny as usual. 🌥️
Here’s a little moment that made me smile – my younger son sitting patiently, waiting for his big brother to finish the zip line ride across the lagoon. The line was long because a big group of staff members were also enjoying the activities, so we had to wait quite a bit. In the end, he got tired of sitting and decided to just lay down and wait. 🥰
Here’s a snapshot of my eldest son enjoying one of the most popular activities at Blue Tree Phuket – the cliff jump! This is a favorite for thrill-seekers, featuring a large rock formation in the middle of the water, just waiting for adventurers to take the plunge and climb back up. If you’re into adventure, this activity is a must-try! 🧗♂️💦
From the restaurant’s viewpoint, you can see the massive rock standing tall in the water. This area is perfect for both cliff jumping and rock climbing. My son went for it without hesitation, and let me tell you – it’s an adrenaline rush like no other! If you’re looking for a heart-pounding experience, this is the spot. 🥳
This spot is a favorite for photos, especially among the ladies. Of course, I asked my husband to take a picture of me here, and I made sure to give him clear instructions: “Make me look tall and slim!” 😅 The result? I ended up looking like a snooker table with legs or a gas tank! Oh well, men just don’t get it sometimes, do they? 😂
Here’s my son, psyching himself up for the jump. Before him, a young girl had been standing there, contemplating the leap for almost half an hour. In the end, she decided it wasn’t for her. It reminded me of my childhood when my friends and I would sneak off to swim at the temple’s pond in the evenings. We’d race each other to the middle, where a tall, dead tree stood. We’d climb to the top and jump off, having the time of our lives. Of course, our parents forbade us from swimming there – it was dangerous and unsupervised, but we couldn’t resist the fun. And every time we got home, my dad was waiting with a switch in his hand! 😂 Ah, those were the days! 🌳💦
When my son finally took the leap, I tried to capture the perfect action shot, but I was too slow! By the time I clicked, he was already in the water. Don’t worry though – there are lifeguards stationed below, ensuring everyone’s safety. They take safety very seriously here, so there’s no need to be afraid. 🛟
As for me, I’ve become quite the scaredy-cat these days. I used to love trying all sorts of exciting activities, but now my body just doesn’t seem up for it anymore. Watching the kids jump, zip line, and climb made me want to join in, but my body said, “Nope, better just enjoy the view.” 😂 Sometimes, it’s okay to just sit back and cheer them on. 🥹💖
The next activity is one that will get your heart racing – and I mean it! 😅 This one is not for the faint of heart (or those of us over a certain age!). It’s the ultimate thrill ride: the mega slide that launches you into the air before you splash down into the water below. 💦✨
There are three different slides to choose from, depending on your thrill level. On the far left, there’s the blue slide – just looking at it, I knew it wasn’t for me. So, I sent in my brave volunteer, my son, to give it a try. 😂 He loved it! Then, I suggested we try the cream-colored slide in the middle, thinking it looked a bit more manageable. But wow, was I wrong! By the final curve, my heart was pounding, and I felt like I was flying at lightning speed. My husband even got a video of it – I was sliding down so fast! That’s when I realized that maybe I should stick to the kiddie slides from now on. 😂
Finally, there’s the yellow slide on the far right. It looked less intimidating at first, but then I noticed it had a tunnel section. Given my experience with enclosed slides in the kids’ area, I decided to pass. The moment it gets dark inside, my fear kicks in. It’s funny – I used to be fearless, but after turning 30, I seem to be afraid of everything! 😅
Here’s a shot of my eldest son going down the blue slide, which is the most thrilling of them all. It has multiple levels of height and speed, and I was planning to capture every moment. But he was so fast that I missed most of the action – I only managed to snap a photo just as he was about to hit the water! 📸💨
When he landed in the water, there were lifeguards right there, ready to help. The staff here are amazing – they’re super attentive and make sure everyone is safe. It’s great to see how seriously they take safety at Blue Tree. You can really enjoy the fun without any worries. 🛟💖
After we finished with the slides, it was time to try out some more activities. My eldest son suggested we go for the zip line ride across the Blue Tree Lagoon. I politely declined – the thought of having a heart attack mid-air on a zip line didn’t sound too appealing to me. 😂 He told me that he intended to enjoy the view below, but once he was gliding through the air, the excitement took over, and he didn’t notice much at all! 🪂
Here’s the tower for the zip line ride across the lagoon. It’s really high up! If I were 20 years younger, there’s no way I would have missed this. But for now, I’m happy just watching from below. 😅
Once the safety gear is on, the staff release you, and you slide across the zip line. There are team members waiting on the other side, giving hand signals to guide you as you get closer to the landing point. The staff here are fantastic – they’re attentive and make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. 🛟✨
My eldest son decided to go for a second round. I planned to capture the whole thing, from the moment he was released, but we ended up waiting, and waiting, and waiting some more. He sat, then lay down – we waited almost an hour for his turn! Eventually, I gave up. I was worried my younger son would get bored, so we left the big brother in line and took the little one to enjoy the kids' water playground instead. 🏊♂️💦
After exhausting ourselves on all the rides, it was time to refuel! As the saying goes, "An army marches on its stomach," and we needed energy for the next round of activities. 😉 Since we’ve already paid for the entry, we might as well make the most of it – not because I’m frugal, but because I’m smart with money! 😅
When buying tickets, we had two options: The first was 350 baht per person, with a “pay for 3, get 1 free” deal. The second option was 650 baht, which included a 300-baht meal voucher but didn’t come with any promotions. We chose the first option since my husband decided he wasn’t going to eat (he’s on a diet, apparently!). 😂
The atmosphere inside the restaurant was really nice. Most of the customers were families – the kids were off enjoying the rides while the parents relaxed with a beer, just chilling and watching from a distance. Most of the guests were expats who have made Thailand their home, while there were fewer Thai families, especially given the current economic situation. 🍻
For my meal, I ordered Pad Thai with fresh shrimp. It was really tasty, and the portion was huge! It cost 180 baht, which seemed reasonable at first, but when the dish arrived, it was so much that I could barely finish it. 🍤
This dish was the grilled pork special, and they had a great promotion: buy one, get one free! So, I ordered it for my two boys. The total for both plates was just 214 baht – a great deal! Meanwhile, my husband stuck with a can of Coke, nothing else. 🥤
When the server brought out the dishes, I was shocked – the portions were so generous! And the taste? Absolutely delicious. I even asked my husband if we should order another set and share. He just laughed and said, “You’re not even that hungry. If we order more, you won’t finish it, and then either I or the kids will end up cleaning up the leftovers.” He knows me too well! 😂
After our delicious meal, we were all feeling full and a bit sleepy. The sun was beating down, making our skin a little crispy. 🌞 At that point, I was torn – should we continue exploring or head home for a nap? Honestly, I felt like taking a break (that’s the reality of getting older – a little bit of activity, and I’m ready for a nap!). But then my husband casually mentioned, “Why don’t we try canoeing? You can take some photos while paddling.” And as soon as I heard the word photos, I was suddenly full of energy again! 😅 I mean, I’ve never paddled a boat before, so why not give it a try? 🚣♀️
We made our way across the Blue Tree Lagoon to the canoe area. Before we could start, we had to put on life jackets, and the staff asked us to sign in for safety purposes. They gave us a quick briefing on paddling and how to sit properly in the boat. At first, we all got into a single canoe – me in the middle, my younger son at the front, and my eldest son paddling from the back. I figured it would be tricky, so I left the paddling to my big boy. 🛶
Off we went, paddling across the lagoon, singing an old Thai boat song: “แจวมาแจวจ้ำจึก น้ำนิ่งไหลลึกนึกถึงคนแจว...” It was a fun and nostalgic moment, but it quickly became clear that the canoe was a bit heavy with all three of us. My eldest son was paddling in circles, and there were a few moments when I thought we might tip over! Thankfully, we made it back to the shore safely, even though my younger son and I were tense the whole time. 😂💦
After that, I decided to try paddling on my own. To my surprise, it wasn’t as hard as I expected – and it was actually a lot of fun! I managed to paddle around the lagoon twice. Who knew I had a hidden talent for canoeing? 😄💪
After our canoeing adventure, we played a bit of water basketball with my younger son. He had a blast, and it was a great way to wrap up our day. This was the last activity before we headed home, and it made for a perfect ending to our day at Blue Tree Phuket. 🏀💦
And that’s a wrap for today’s adventure at Blue Tree! But wait – the day isn’t over yet. In the evening, we stopped by the local night market, so stay tuned for more photos in my next post! 🛍️✨
As a little treat, a video including a drone view of Blue Tree Phuket, don’t miss it! 📹🌊
