Today, the rain poured down in a steady rhythm, creating puddles on the streets and a cool mist in the air. This weather made me long for something warm and comforting. By the time afternoon rolled around, I decided to head to a nearby cafe for a steaming cup of green tea.

This wasn't just any cafe—it was my favorite spot, recently relocated from Kathu. Back in Kathu, the cafe had been famous for its vibrant plastic flowers that adorned every corner. I had spent countless afternoons there, surrounded by those colorful blooms, savoring the cozy atmosphere. The news of its move to my neighborhood had filled me with a mix of excitement and nostalgia. I had to see how it had fared in its new setting.

I drove through the steady rain, my windshield wipers working tirelessly to keep my view clear. When I arrived at the cafe, I parked right in front and quickly opened my umbrella before stepping out into the downpour.

This cafe, in its new location, was different from the one I remembered in Kathu. The interior here had a minimalist charm, with white walls that gave the space a bright, airy feel. To the left, a counter and a glass cabinet showcased an array of tempting baked goods.

I made my way to the counter and ordered a hot matcha green tea and a croissant. As I waited, I took the opportunity to survey the cafe. The decor was simple yet elegant, with potted plants adding a touch of green to the otherwise white palette. Sunlight, muted by the rain clouds, streamed softly through large windows, creating a cozy atmosphere despite the weather outside.

The interior was decorated in a clean, white tone, a stark contrast to the colorful plastic flowers of the Kathu location. Instead of floral displays, the cafe used glass strategically to create an illusion of more space, making the room feel expansive and airy.

The walls were adorned with beautiful paintings, each depicting serene landscapes and vibrant scenes. These artworks added a splash of color and personality to the otherwise minimalist decor. A long bench ran along one side of the wall, providing ample seating, while the opposite side featured a row of cute, mismatched chairs, each with its own unique charm.

Although the abundance of plastic flowers from the old cafe was absent, the new decor had a subtle elegance that was equally captivating. The few flowers and sticks placed around the room added a touch of natural beauty without overwhelming the space. It was a different kind of charm, but one that was undeniably appealing.

As I continued to take in the details, my hot matcha green tea and croissant arrived. I enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the sound of rain gently tapping against the glass. The new cafe might have been different from the one in Kathu, but it had its own distinct beauty that made it a lovely place to spend a rainy afternoon.
