We have a very similar place. An ecological trail in the Sestroretsk bog. Also boards and around a wide swamp. Haven't been there for a long time)

Yes … we chose to build our house close to the river, lakes and Boreal Forest here in Ontario. But also close enough to a grocery store and market so I can pick up all our food on my bike.
That's a great idea. Unfortunately, I live in a big city and I don't get in touch with nature as often as I would like.
