I woke up to a usual day at uni but what i saw when i stepped outside took my breath away the sky was painted in hues of soft pinks oranges and blues it looked like an artist had gently brushed these colors across the horizon the sunlight poured through the branches of the trees casting golden shadows on the ground the clouds were wispy like strands of cotton candy drifting lazily in the breeze the air was cool and fresh and everything felt so calm and peaceful.
As i stood there soaking in the beauty of the morning the light breeze whispered through the leaves making them rustle softly the way the sunlight hit the glass windows of the buildings made them sparkle like tiny gems even the normally busy streets seemed to slow down just a bit it was like time had paused to admire the beauty of the world with me i took a deep breath closed my eyes for a second and just felt grateful for witnessing such a serene moment.
After soaking in the view my tummy reminded me it was time for a feast and what better way to satisfy my hunger than with some mouthwatering biryani from the cafeteria the smell of the spicy biryani hit me before i even saw it long grains of fragrant rice perfectly mixed with tender juicy chicken pieces every bite was packed with flavor the spices danced on my taste buds the warmth of the cardamom the heat from the green chilies and the tang from the yogurt made it irresistible.
The best part was the fried onions sprinkled on top they added a slight sweetness and crunch that balanced the bold flavors i could see steam rising from the hot rice and the golden color of the saffron threads peeking through the rice layers i mixed the raita with each bite and the cooling yogurt made every mouthful so satisfying the more i ate the more i felt comforted it was like each bite was a hug for my soul.
The cafeteria was buzzing with students enjoying their meals but i was in my own little world savoring the biryani the pieces of chicken were so tender they fell apart easily the burst of flavors was so rich and comforting that i didn’t want the meal to end every bite was a perfect combination of spice and warmth filling me with pure joy.
To top off this perfect meal i decided to grab an ice cream with my little brother from a small shop near our house we were both so excited as we picked out our flavors i chose creamy vanilla with a swirl of caramel while he went for chocolate chip the moment i took my first bite the cold sweetness melted on my tongue it was rich smooth and just what i needed after the spicy biryani.
The ice cream shop was small and cozy filled with the sweet scent of waffles and cones kids were running around giggling while parents watched with smiles on their faces my brother’s eyes lit up as he took a big bite of his chocolate chip ice cream and a little bit of chocolate smudged his cheek we couldn’t stop laughing at each other’s messy faces.
We walked home slowly ice creams in hand savoring every lick the cold treat melted slowly and we talked about everything and nothing at the same time the simple joy of eating ice cream with my brother made me feel like a kid again the sun was beginning to set casting a golden glow over everything the day was ending in the most perfect way.
By the time we reached home my heart felt so full of happiness the beautiful view the delicious biryani and the sweet ice cream were simple things but they brought me so much joy sometimes it’s these little moments that create the best memories my belly was happy and my heart even happier and i knew this was a day i’d remember for a long time.
