Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Today I'll be sharing some of my battles with and against the new promo cards. These Rebellion promo cards were sold in the hall of legends for 3,000 DEC or Credits for the rare and 50,000 DEC or Credits for the legendary.
Promo Cards
The cards the were previously sold were Night Stalker (Rare) and Delya (Legendary). Previously it was Sanctus Vicar (Rare) and Elanor Bravefoot (Legendary). Let's check out their stats, they are very good which justifies their price.
Sanctus Vicar (Rare)
Sactus Vicar is a rare Water and Fire monster. One BCX has decent stats but at max level he can deal 3 ranged damage, has 3 speed and has good defense and health. He has good support abilities in Cleanse and Cleanse Rearguard which is great in Noxious Fumes ruleset. He also has Reflection Shield to counter Blast and Return Fire. I'd get him at level 4 if I had funds. He would be a great support card while dealing some damage. He kinda reminds me of one of my favorite reward cards though, Luceheim Demon.
Elanor Bravefoot (Legendary)
Elanor Bravefoot is a 0 mana legendary neutral card. Being a 0 mana card, her utility at level 1 is to fill empty slots mainly to catch sneak attackers. At max level she gains more abilities but her damage output is just decent. She will gain Strengthen which is a great support ability and Blasphemy of Uul where she gives +1 Ranged for each allied Fiend. She has the Weary debuff though which is not good for a legendary unit.
Night Stalker
The Night Stalker is my favorite of the current promo cards. At level 1 it deals good damage while having the Sneak ability. It also only 4 mana so it will be easy to find a slot. It will also be great in Even only battles since we don't have enough even-mana sneak attackers. At level 4 it will gain another ability, Execute which will make him deadlier. I also like that he is a Death and Fire Splinter. His skills and stats will synergize with the summoners.
Delya
Delya is a neutral legendary card. Looking at her stats, she is a beast of a damage dealer. At level 1 she deals 2 ranged damage and has the Double Strike ability. At level 3 she gets another attack stat and the Dodge ability which will be complimented by her 5 speed. At max level she gets the Backfire ability making her even deadlier.
Battles
I had some battles against Elanor Bravefoot. These are low mana battles where she can be useful.
I wanted to try playing with the new cards too so I set up a challenge against my alt account.
I used Delya with my favorite Light team and she fits in nicely taking the role of damage dealer while my support units sustain my tank and Taunt unit. On the other side, I tried Night Stalker and this guy is also great. He's also an excellent damage dealer with 4 melee damage and Execute ability. Given the right conditions, he can also attack twice and eliminate the enemy backline.
Conclusion
The promo cards are admittedly not for everyone given their price. However, they are indeed fun to play with and will give you a definite edge in battles. If you have spare DEC lying around then maybe consider getting some copies of these beasts.
Thank you for reading and have fun playing Splinterlands!
