Hello Splinterlands Summoners! In today's edition of Social Media Challenge, let's check out the new reward card, Syrenth. I recently got three BCX of her after end of season immediately upgrading her to level 2.

Syrenth Stats and Abilities
Syrenth at level one deals huge four ranged damage, has two speed and eight health. She has the Taunt ability as well. At level two, she gains an armor providing her with another layer of defense and an extra health. She also gains the Dodge ability. Level three increases her health again and gives her another ability: Return Fire. At max level, she gains the Stun ability. She requires nine mana to field in battle limiting her use.
Syrenth Role in Battle, Strengths and Weakness
Syrenth stats and abilities were well made and synergizes with each other. Her defense and high health together with her Dodge abilities makes her an effective unit to draw attacks with her Taunt ability. Contrast that with another card with Taunt ability but has weak defense and low health, Gallicus. She has Return Fire at level three making her a great unit to use in Going the Distance ruleset. The Stun ability at max level is just sweet giving her a debuff ability.
On the other hand, I don't see Syrenth having defense against magic attacks and this is where she is weak. In case of you you use her in Keep Your Distance ruleset and the opponent use magic cards then Syrenth will quickly melt like butter.
Featured Battle
The battle has Going the Distance ruleset and is capped at 43 mana which is ideal for Syrenth. I chose Quix as a summoner since he decreases the opponent's ranged attack by one and slows them down. I picked Lava Launcher and Zyvax Vuul in first and second positions respectively since they have the Close Range ability and they have sufficient defense and health to tank. In third position I placed Scavo Firebolt, a rare card that deals three ranged damage. In fourth position I placed Syrenth to Taunt and in fifth position I placed Firecaller. I was hoping she would get eliminated and buff Syrenth with her Martyr ability. In sixth position I placed Kha'zi Conjurer. He deals four ranged damage but has the Incendiary ability which I hoped to turn into an advantage by eliminating Firecaller.
My opponent chose the Water team and has the Wavebrood as his tank. He has the Swamp Spitter to repair armor and Mar Toren Trader to decrease my ranged damage.
My units has the higher damage output while my opponent's team can only deal single ranged damage after Quix debuffed their attack. Also, I have two units who can tank with high health and Close Range ability against my opponent who only relied on Wavebrood. Once his tank got eliminated the battle was easy to win.
