Hello Splinterlands Summoners and welcome to another edition of Social Media Challenge! This time let's talk about one of powerful abilities in the game: Weapons Training.

Weapons Training Ability

The Weapons Training ability allows a unit to lend power to adjacent allied units that have no attack, granting them the ability to strike using the same attack type. If a monster with Weapons Training has Melee, Ranged, or Magic attack, nearby non-attacking monsters—such as support or tank units—gain the ability to attack with the same type.

Things to Consider with Weapons Training Ability

  1. Only adjacent non-attacking units benefit from this ability. Even two non-attacking monsters may benefit provided they are adjacent to a unit with this ability.

  2. The attack power granted is typically half of the original unit’s attack. A unit with no attack may gain two if it is between two units with this ability.

  3. This ability helps support monsters like Baakjira or Merdaali Guardian to gain the ability to attack making them much more powerful.

Which Units Have the Weapons Training Ability

The Weapons Training ability was introduced with the release of Soulbound reward cards. Legendary cards of that set have this ability. Some cards from the Rebellion set also have this. Here are some of the cards with the Weapons Training ability at level 1.

Possible Unit Synergies With the Weapons Training

Here are some sample unit combinations where the unit with no attack benefits from a unit with Weapons Training ability.

Sample Battle: A Unit Gains Double Attack

This battle showcases how powerful the Weapons Training ability is. I have two units with the ability, Berix Snakeeye and Skok Duskblight positioned beside a unit with no attack (Will-o-Wisp) thus granting it both ranged and magic attacks. This transforms the lowly unit into an offensive powerhouse.

Conclusion

The units with no attacks are the best support units in the game to compensate for their weakness. The Weapons Training ability changes this and help them contribute to the battle offensively. By incorporating the Weapons Training cards into your deck, you can create versatile strategies in your battles.
