Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Today, let's check out one of my favorite new card--Olivia the Brook.
Olivia the Brook
Olivia the Brook has become one of my favorites not just because of her utility in battle but she is also fun to watch. I don't skip battles when I have her on the line up. It's so much fun to watch her accumulate abilities as the fight goes on and use those abilities against the opponent.
Let's check out her stats and abilities.
She can deal both melee and magic damage similar to Quora and has the Opportunity ability so she can be placed anywhere and she will do damage twice. At level 2 is where she becomes super strong because of her Mimic ability. The Mimic ability allows her to copy the enemy's abilities starting on round 2. There's also a 25% chance that she can copy an attackers ability. Because of this, she can accumulate a lot of abilities the more the battle goes on and these collection of abilities make her an overpowered unit.
I'm content to have her at level 2 at the moment but it can't hurt to level her up and increase her stats although it doesn't give her much benefit in my opinion. At level 3 she gains an armor then the benefit is she can be eligible to play in rulesets where only armored units are allowed.
Olivia in Battle
I have a lot of battles with Olivia as I try to use her whenever I can. She already took the Pelacor Arbalest's spot in battle.
Battle 1
In this battle, Olivia gained a lot of abilities including Bloodlust. Although my tank got eliminated first, my other units including Olivia took out the enemy units one by one. Olivia's Bloodlust ability helped as she we was doing a lot of damage.
Battle 2
This battle was decided by a one on one fight between Olivia and Tenyii Striker. Having only 1 health left, Olivia's Dodge and Poison abilities helped her win the fight.
Battle 3
Against higher level Earth team, Olivia was hit by a splash damage from Blast which she copied. The Blast ability is deadly when included in Olivia's arsenal considering she does melee and magic damage while having the Opportunity ability. This allows here to do damage to three units as she hits the unit with the lowest health placed in the middle. During the fight, she also gained the Silence ability decreasing the magic damage from the enemy.
Final Thoughts
I usually skip battles in Splinterlands but is so entertaining to watch that don't skip battles with her in it. Splinterlands surprises us with cards that has great utility in battle but also enjoyable to watch. Another unit I'd like to see in battle is Heloise the Hollow. Her Spite and Soul Siphon abilities are new and innovative and will bring new elements and strategies.
Thank you for reading and have fun playing Splinterlands!
