Reimagined Commander Slade by Night Cafe
Hello Splinterlands Summoners! Today I'll be sharing my battles with Commander Slade. No doubt he is my favorite card among the new Rebellion reward set. His abilities and stats make him a powerful tank.
Battle 1 - Ruleset: Equalizer
My Team
My team is composed of Commander Slade and damage dealers in the back. I also have my Merdaali Guardian to support him.
The Opponent
The opponent's team is a Possibilus the Wise + Coastal Sentry combo. I often lose to this combo because of Coastal Sentry's devastating damage to my tank. Commander Slade is a natural counter to this combo because of his Dodge ability. Also, his Enfeeble ability will weaken Coastal Sentry's damage once she gets into the tank position.
Battle 2 - Ruleset: Heavy Hitters and Lost Magic
Magic attack is a weakness of Commander Slade since he doesn't have Phase or Void Armor. So in this ruleset he will shine as he has all his strengths and none of his weaknesses.
My Team
The mana cap in this battle is higher so I included the Flying Squid, Kulu Mastermind and Swamp Spitter along with Deep Lurker and Merdaali Guardian. This is a stronger team than the first battle.
The Opponent
The opponent has a Waka Spirit Blade summoner and higher level cards. However, the team composition doesn't synergize with each other well.
Conclusion
Commander Slade is one of the exciting reward cards we have today. He shines as a melee tank especially when magic units are not allowed. He can compete with the best tanks out there with his abilities and stats complementing each other.
