Hello Moon Kart racers! It was fun to build a racing gear or set up for $11 that I wrote in my last post. Today, let's build the cheapest racing set up. We will fill up all the accessories and tech cards that are available in the slots. Power ups like in my last post will be completely optional. All the NFTs that I will list are available in the market and you may follow these recommendations if you so choose. Shout out to @mrdani12 who bought the racing set-up (Quasar Sport + Vortex) from my last post.
Kart: Astro Kart $0.29
I know I said from my last post that this kart is not that competitive. But today, we are building the cheapest racing set up and not the cost vs performance kart from my last post. The Astro Kart is an entry level kart so you have to manage your expectations when buying this kart. It will take a lot of skill to get far with this kart at level one. It has modest stats with speed of 112.5, handling of 45.3, acceleration and health of 39.
Driver: Blaze $0.25
Blaze is not the cheapest driver in the market at $0.25. The cheapest is Turbo at $0.13 but Blaze has the highest handling stats and believe me when I tell you that you will need every ounce of handling you can get to make the level one Astro Kart drivable. Blaze boosts the kart with speed of 3.3, handling of 6, health of 22.9 and has a negative stat in acceleration of -9.1. I know, it sucks but in this set up, control is more important than speed.
Tech Cards: Engine Refinement $0.35
The level one Astro Kart only has one tech card slot open. Here we can only include the Engine Refinement tech card which costs $0.35. The Engine Refinement will provide an additional speed of 57 and acceleration of 1.2. It's actually the most expensive NFT in our common racing set up build.
Accessories $0.32
The level one Astro kart has three accessories available that a kart can equip. I picked the cheapest ones available from the in-game market. However, they only provide modest boosts to stats.
Flex Edge $0.08 | Silent Stream $0.13 | Sure Turn $0.11 |

Flex Edge is the cheapest at $0.08 in the market and provides handling stat of 0.3. Silent Stream which costs $0.13 will boost the kart's speed by 6.5 while Sure Turn will increase the kart's acceleration by 4.3 for $0.11 for a total cost of 32 cents.
Power Ups
Power Ups are weapons and defense that you can equip on your kart to disable other racer's karts. One power up can defend against such attacks for a limited time. Similar to the build we did last time, Power Ups are optional but you can buy some if you choose to do so. Power Ups are all common cards but costs a lot. The Astro Kart can equip only one power ups. Power up costs range from $3 to $5.
Lunar Glide | Lunar Bolt | Cosmic Disruptor | Lunar Barrier | Celestial Thrust |

Overall Kart Stats and Cost $1.21
The common kart build is cheap at $1.21 total cost. The costs are based on the prevailing market prices at the time of writing. The racing set up will have a total speed of 179, health of 62, handling of 52 and acceleration of 35. As I said, you will need a lot of skill to get far on this cheap set up. To be honest, this is not the most competitive kart out there and you might get frustrated being left in the dust by more expensive karts but if you just want to have fun racing with other players and not focused on earning COLONY tokens, then this racing set up will get you in the game. However, if you really want to have fun, better shell out $11 for a competitive racing set up.
