Hello Moon Kart racers! If you have tried Moon Karts game and bought the Astro Kart, you're probably not that satisfied as I was. The Astro Kart is a good beginner kart to dip your toes into the game. However, it's not that competitive at level one and you will probably spend a lot to be able to compete decently. If you want to build a better racing gear (kart + other NFTs) then I got you covered. This is my recommendation taking into account cost vs performance.
Kart: Quasar Sport $7.49
The Kart is the most important NFT to have if you are building a racing gear. The rarity and level of karts determines the number of tech cards, power ups and accessories you can put in its slots. The higher the rarity and level, the more options for customization and more chances to increase your racing gear's stats. For the kart, I'd strongly recommend the Quasar Sport. A level one Quasar Sport costs $7.49 in the market.
The Quasar Sport is an epic card. At level one, it boasts of 114.1 speed and 60 health, acceleration and handling. More importantly, it has three slots open for tech cards accessories and power ups. You can already build a decent racing gear on these stats and slots availability.
Comparison with Other Karts
LunocityX $13.0
LunocityX is a rare card. To have similar stats with a level one Quasar Sport, you will need a level two LunocityX. It will have faster speed of 118.8 but lower in other stats of health, 51; acceleration, 57.3 and handling of 57.3. It also has lesser power ups and tech slots opened. To have a level two LunocityX you will have to spend $13 (10 BCX * $1.30).
Astro Kart $11.60
You will need a level three Astro Kart to come close to Quasar Sport. It will have a speed of 120.5, acceleration of 47, health of 47 and handling of 53.3. It also has less slots opened for tech cards and power ups. A level three Astro Kart will cost $11.60 (40 BCX * $0.29)
Other NFTs - Rare Cards Recommended
To complete our racing gear, we need other NFTs like drivers, tech and power up cards. The driver is a must but the others are optional. Of course, having more NFTs means your kart will have increased stats. For other NFTs, I'll recommend rare cards. Rare cards only cost less than $1 and close to common cards in price while having better stats. If you have more budget then maybe you can opt for epic cards which costs over $2 per card.
Driver: Vortex $0.49
Vortex provides high stats on speed 23.6 and health 20.2. She is ideal for maximum speed while making your kart durable against attacks and bumps from other racers. One BCX of Vortex costs $0.49 in the market. Of course, there are other drivers who provide more boosts on other stats like handling and acceleration. Choosing which boosts a driver provide depends on your racing style.
Tech Cards: $1.62
Tech Cards provide boosts to a karts stats like speed, acceleration, health and handling. There are a maximum of three tech cards that you can equip on your kart.
Engine Tune Up $0.43 | Tire Tread $0.68 | Body Enhancement $0.51 |

One BCX of Engine Tune Up costs $0.43 in the market and provides an increase in speed of 56.1 and acceleration of 2.6. Tire Tread will also increase speed by 10.9, acceleration of 2.1 while giving a boost in handling of 31.5 for $0.68. Body Enhancement will increase health by 31.5 and gives a modest boost in acceleration of 2.1 for $0.51. The total cost of tech cards is $1.62.
Accessories $1.25
Similar to tech cards, accessories also provide additional stats to a kart's speed, health, acceleration and handling. There are also a maximum of three accessories that a kart can equip.
Swift Fin $0.40 | Jet Flow $0.5 | Steady Spin $0.35 |
---|---|---|

Swift Fin costs $0.40 in the market helps with the kart's stability increasing handling by 1.3. The Jet Flow which costs $0.50 boosts the kart's speed by 7.9 while Steady Spin increases the kart's acceleration for $0.35 for a total cost of $1.25.
Power Ups
Power Ups are weapons and defense that you can equip on your kart to disable other racer's karts. One power up can defend against such attacks for a limited time. I did not include Power Ups in my build but you can do so if you so choose. Power Ups are all common cards but costs a lot. A kart can equip a maximum of five power ups. Power up costs range from $3 to $5.
Lunar Glide | Lunar Bolt | Cosmic Disruptor | Lunar Barrier | Celestial Thrust |

Overall Kart Stats and Cost $10.86
The build that I recommended will cost $10.86 based on the prevailing market prices at the time of writing. The racing gear will have speed of 213, health of 112, handling of 101 and acceleration of 79. You can play around with these numbers by choosing other drivers and card rarities and levels but the most important is the kart which I believe provides the best performance vs cost.
