The Quilliun Legionary is one of the new rare reward cards that I like. Because of his stats and abilities, he can take any position in battle as long as the mana cap allows it. He can be a great tank or placed in the back like the Tokatag Conscript to catch sneak attackers.
The Quilliun Legionary is a range attack monster. He has the Close Range ability at level 1 and he has an armor and enough health to be a decent tank. At level 2 he gains the Thorns ability so he would be great in the first position against enemy melee tanks or in the back against melee sneak attackers. At level 4, he gains the Void ability so his effectiveness as a tank is amplified since he can now reduce magic attacks.
Battles
Battle Against Conqueror Jacek and Grum Flameblade Combo
Conqueror Jacek and Grum Flameblade is a nightmare combo against a magic team. Grum is a strong anti-magic tank because he has both Void Armor and Void abilities. He is hampered by his lack of speed but Conqueror Jacek solves this problem by buffing him with 2 speed and also giving him a Piercing ability which works well with his high damage output. In this battle, Quilliun Legionary held his own against Grum and damaged him with Thorns ability. His Void ability also helped reduce damage from the enemy magic caster.
Battle Against a Grund led Magic Team
Grund is one of the strongest damage dealer tanks in the game. This is because of his high melee damage output coupled with his Double Strike ability. The ruleset in this battle includes Briar Patch so Grund also gains the Thorns ability but this will not work on Quilliun Legionary because he is a ranged damage dealer. His Void ability is very effective in fending off magic attacks and this made him last longer than the enemy tank.
Conclusion
I think that the Rare and Common cards are best to prioritize when upgrading reward cards. Cards like Commander Slade and Quilliun Legionary are good examples of new cards that can easily take slots in your teams and replace the old Chaos Legion cards. If you are planning to replace your Chaos Legion cards with the new ones then consider the Quilliun Legionary in your teams.
