This approval was given in the Government Procurement Advisory Council Committee meeting held under the chairmanship of Finance Advisor Salehuddin Ahmad in the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat on Wednesday (December 11).

According to sources in the meeting, the advisory council committee has approved the procurement proposal for the completion of the project package number-Beza/W-1, "Construction of bridge over Feni river on Sonagazi and Mirsrai economic zone link road (1st revised)". When tenders were called for procurement of project works, 4 organizations participated in it. All 4 propositions are technically responsive. RBCG and NDE will implement the project as the responsive lowest bidder recommended by TEC after all the bidding processes. The project will cost 630 crore 21 thousand 278 rupees.

In the meeting, the committee approved the proposal regarding the re-tendering of the purchase work of package number-SUN/Jamalganj/CW-1 in Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj district under the project of 'Udal road and physical infrastructure development in Haor area'. When the open tender was called for the completion of the project in a two-stage two-envelope method, bids were received from 3 organizations. 2 of them are technically responsive.

Responsive Lowest Bidder National Development Engineers' purchase proposal of Rs 198 crore was presented to the CCGP meeting on March 27 for approval but some information was sought without approval. Accordingly, the said institution did not send any information when asked for information.

In the meantime the validity period of the tender has expired. The second lowest bidder M/s Jamal Iqbal's bid of Tk 228 crore 79 lakh 46 thousand 64 was 14.68 percent more than the official estimate and the said purchase proposal was approved by the committee when a proposal was presented for approval of re-tendering.

The European Union-funded 3 million Euro Talent Partnership project has been officially launched to create skilled manpower. This will address labor skill shortages, reduce migration costs and increase opportunities for people willing to migrate to Bangladesh for labor.
