caramel Popcorn Recipe

Ingredients to be used
- half cup popcorn kernels
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups packed brown sugar
- half cup corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- half teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions to be followed
- Preheat your oven to 250 F . Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Pop the popcorn kernels a using an air popper or stovetop method. Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl removing any unpopped kernels.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar corn syrup and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil stirring constantly.
- Once boiling stop stirring and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract. The mixture will bubble up.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn and stir well to coat evenly.
- Spread the caramel coated popcorn onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating.
- Remove from the oven and let the caramel popcorn cool completely before breaking into pieces.
