How to Cook Plain White Rice

- In a medium saucepan bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- Add the rinsed rice and salt to the boiling water.
- Stir once then reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight fitting lid.
- Let the rice simmer for 18 20 minutes without lifting the lid. The water should be completely absorbed by the rice.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes to allow the rice to steam and become fluffy.
