WHAT CAN WE DO?
Curbing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) requires a coordinated effort at individual, community, national, and global levels. Here are key strategies to reduce AMR:
- Responsible Use of Antimicrobials
✓ For Individuals: Only use antibiotics and other antimicrobials when prescribed by a qualified healthcare provider. Complete the full course as directed, even if you start feeling better before finishing the treatment.
✓ For Healthcare Providers: Prescribe antimicrobials only when absolutely necessary, after proper diagnosis, and avoid using broad-spectrum antibiotics when a narrow-spectrum drug will work.
- Strengthen Infection Prevention and Control (IPC)
✓ Hand Hygiene: Frequent handwashing, especially in healthcare settings, helps prevent the spread of infections.
✓ Vaccination: Routine immunization prevents infections that would otherwise require treatment with antibiotics, reducing the need for their use. - Limit Use in Agriculture
✓Minimize the use of antimicrobials in farming, particularly for non-therapeutic purposes like growth promotion in livestock.
✓ Promote good animal health practices and hygiene on farms to reduce the spread of infections among animals.

All the fruits and vegetables in the market has turned to inorganic products.
✓Sanitation and Clean Water: Ensuring access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene in communities reduces infections and, therefore, the need for antimicrobials.
That's all as on this post as regards microbial resistance
