Life was unbearable for Roman British women during the Roman times of invasion and colonisation. The mother was less useful and regarded than the father in the family structure.
For instance, if a baby was given birth to, it would be put at its father's feet for acknowledgement. If the baby was picked up, it would be saved and nothing happens but if not if would be taken away and be killed.
Moreover, women were expected to run the house, cook meals, and raise children. However, wealthy women were lucky, because they would have the slaves do the work.
Many girls were married off at the age of 14 and a man could divorce his wife, if she didn't give birth to a male child if he wishes.
Roman house were made of brick or stone and tiled roof. Some houses include glass windows and under ground heating equipment for reducing body cold which is the opposite of the British Celtic people that lives in wooden houses with thatched roofs.
Likewise, as regards Roman children's education. Most Roman children during the Roman times of British invasion did not go to school. Only the rich families could afford to pay a teacher.
Most girls did not have the opportunity of being educated though some were taught at home by educated slaves.
Boys from rich families on the other hand learned about literature, mathematics, history, science at school facilities in order to be employed in the army or by government while girls and boys from poor family had to work tirelessly to help their parents and guardians.
