Our geese

Well, I think I'll start introducing you to the inhabitants of my house in more detail. I don't have a plan. My animals and birds usually decide who I'm going to write about. It doesn't mean that they come to me with a content plan, but they do something that becomes a topic for a post.

For example today our goose Marusya decided it would be a great idea to fly off to the neighbour's garden. Actually the idea turned out not to be a great idea and it was lucky that the neighbour's dog was resting in the house at the time! But I did get an adrenaline charge!

This doesn't really happen very often. My geese are firstly homebodies and not too inclined to pay visits to neighbours' yards, and secondly, they are quite fat to fly. It makes our lives easier.

Like all the other animals in my house my geese are my pets. I am a vegetarian, so they can feel perfectly safe and assured of a long goose life. Geese are very intelligent birds. They really can be great companion pets. Plus, they have an unusually delicate down. When I'm in a bad mood, I take the goose in my arms and stroke its delicate plumage with my hand. It calms me down. I call it goose therapy.
