In a world like ours, Why Be Skeptical?

I learned that Elon Musk's idols were also highly skeptical of the road he was taking when it came to his space exploration attempts today when viewing one of his interviews, as I often do when I need some motivation.

Elon responded, very upset, saying it was really terrible for him, but he would never give up when the reporter asked him. This truly resonated with me since I have also never fully understood the way of thinking that leads certain people to simply be doubtful of concepts and ideas without even weighing their options.

I've always held a progressive viewpoint because I think that humans are capable of accomplishing seemingly insurmountable feats. I really get excited about this more than anything else, which is why I have such a deep affinity for the tech industry.

Therefore, even in this day and age, it may be quite difficult and infuriating to witness so many people doubting things or the potential of technology, especially when history is replete with examples of humankind reaching ever-higher heights.

I like to point out to people that there is no need to be skeptical about anything if it is not currently breaking the rules of physics and never will. Sure, the desired outcome could take longer to accomplish, but why declare anything impossible until it defies the rules of nature?

The last century is evidence that there are so many (almost endless, if you truly feel it) opportunities in the world that you can select your own road and work to improve the world rather than attempting to undermine someone else who is contentedly traveling down his own path.

Allow me to restate using Elon's example. He is working alone to advance humanity in a myriad of ways that will alter the world on multiple occasions, but rather than accepting him or endorsing his views, a number of people—some of them quite respectable—have been making fun of his ideas.

My point is, why would you deliberately make someone appear foolish if you don't believe in something? Despite being misunderstood by others, visionaries manage to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks and ultimately emerge victorious.

You know what the foundation of today's world is? Concepts! Yes, the concepts that were just in the minds of those who devoted their lives to making them a reality. It was them who posed the "what if" question.

It was they who posed questions like this. What happens if it succeeds? What happens if we can accomplish this or that? This question marks the start of the process of altering the world.

Why not focus your attention on finding ways that something will work, rather than trying to think of reasons why it won't? We all want innovation and advancement, don't we? Why didn't you back these dreamers back then, or even better, become one yourself?

Our planet is full of opportunities, and because of our intelligence, humans are able to take advantage of these opportunities for the benefit of our species as a whole in a world like this.
