Do you know that regrets will never change your current situation?
Do you know that regrets will only hurt you and keep you in so much pain?
Do you know that regrets won’t reframe or rewrite the situation?
Regret won’t take time back or make magic happen. It will only eat you up and make you bitter and unhealthy.
Recently I found myself in a long term situation, because of a decision I made, for some months I have been beating myself so hard, keep wishing I can take time back , blaming my mom for initiating the plan , blaming myself for not contacting some persons to get properly informed and many regrets. The guilt and self blame keeps ruining each day.
I just got realize a month ago that I needs to forgive myself first to be happy again, blames and nagging won’t heal me or take time back.
As humans it’s very natural to feel that way, but extremely dangerous to let it overwhelm you , don’t wallow or swim in regrets.
I have forgiven myself and everyone that encourages that decision, I believe it’s an experience that would make me wiser.
Instead of regretting, I want to figure out a way out of the situation, if it get worse, the experience will make me stronger and not make same mistake twice, or allow anyone around me make such mistake.
While in this situation, I learnt how to exercise and meditate, exercising help to take me out of my immediate environment, it takes me to a world I want to create for myself in the future, it relieves the pain and makes me see hope and a bright future. I just believe this regrets will make me skillful in making decisions in the future. The next step I intend taking is focusing my energy on something more productive to distract my mind and attention.
Regrets is part of life lessons and learning, I believe great men have also had a time of regrets and pain, I just have to learn through the process and be a better person , most times regrets and guilt helps us gain valuable life lessons .
