Do you ever find yourself acting exactly like your parents or using their words in particular situations with your kids? What sensation does it give you to hear their words flowing out of your head? Do you suddenly realize that, even though your parenting philosophy differs slightly from theirs, you have become their parent?

The ability to be bored frees the mind to assimilate new information, become more creative, and detach from the present. How many video games have been abandoned due to boredom? How many brilliant ideas did boredom inspire? Throughout our early years, how many things did we discover on our own simply by taking a chance or wanting to experiment? A large number of today's kids demand to be entertained all the time and lack real life skills. Their addiction to social media and their incessant quest for rewards are both on the rise.

Some parents who have admitted to feeling overawed by how social media is affecting their kids. Every one of them bemoaned the fact that their children were addicted to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, or some other social media site. Also that social media was the biggest threat because it ruined their relationships with their children.

Only a handful admitted that they had agreed to let social media into their children's lives, albeit only under specific guidelines, and what steps were done to prevent feeding this addiction.

The vast majority of parents prohibited their kids from using any of the platforms and only permitted internet use for purposes connected to their education. While the others acknowledged their helplessness and did not use any forms of restraint. They kept a blind eye on their children's usage of social media and allowed it to continue.

Which ones adopted the proper strategy? Those that choose to accept social media as a significant influence on their children's lives, in my opinion, had a more optimistic outlook on the future. Our children are raised in a completely different environment than our own.

The media permeates every aspect of our lives as society changes. Our kids are maturing differently from us, even though it may be difficult for us to acknowledge this.
