Good morning, dear friends, and welcome to another beautiful new week.
(Today's verse Read Job 1:21)
It is difficult for human nature to accept that happiness and hardship may coexist. Jesus urges us to see beyond the present moment, when our perceptions and emotions are rooted in the temporal realm. Everything He did and said was done in the light of eternity.
To begin viewing things God's viewpoint, we might raise our gaze above the natural. And even if we don't understand it completely now, we may have faith in a very dependable God. Job made it through his season of destruction in this way. He lost all he owned, including his health, wealth, and children. His wife encouraged him to blame God and die, while his friends offered him no consolation.
He replied with admiration even in his worst tragedy. He was unable to understand the generosity of God. He couldn't comprehend why He had inexplicably taken away everything He had provided. Nevertheless, he blessed His name.
Even on our worst days, we can rejoice in the knowledge that God has blessed our past, is rewarding us now, and will continue to bless us in ways we cannot yet fully understand.
"Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise in the assembly of the godly. Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their King. Let them praise His name with dancing, and make music to Him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He adorns the afflicted with salvation." - Psalm 149:1-4"
