"Mark Twain was one of the best American writers, considered a true literary genius and novelist and one of his most representative novels is "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn". A fairly simple story to carry by its style, showing adventures in different cities of the United States, which considering the time in which it is set, has a richness marked by the situation that blacks lived by slavery, the difficulties of classes for being low-income whites or without noble surname. In this novel, Twain makes a connection with his previous novel, which I have not yet read, making a kind of continuation or parallel story, since in this book, the protagonist of the previous book is named as a friend at the end. If we are talking about adventure stories, this is one that will keep us attentive to every detail to follow and will surely be an unforgettable story.

Una historia bastante sencilla de llevar por su estilo, mostrando aventuras en distintas ciudades de los Estados Unidos, que considerando la época en que está ambientada, posee una riqueza marcada por la situación que Vivían los negros por la esclavitud, las dificultades de clases por ser blancos de bajos recursos o sin apellido noble. En esta novela Twain, hace una conexión de su novela anterior, que aún no he leído, haciendo una especie de continuación o historia paralela, ya que en este libro, se nombra al protagonista del libro anterior, como amigo de fin. Si de historias de aventura se trata, esta es una que nos mantendrá atentos a cada detalle a seguir y seguramente será una historia inolvidable

"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn", tells a series of adventures framed in a time when slavery in the United States was booming. Finn was just a teenager who had his adventures and some traps, along with his cousin Tom, the protagonist of the book that precedes this one, who is kidnapped by his own father when he learns that he had some money. But he deftly manages to escape. It is here where he meets Jim, who was the slave of a very cantankerous and ill-mannered lady who Finn himself held a grudge against, this is a man of strong build, he was a slave of forced labor, but a very peaceful and gentle man to things. Together they embark on a raft made of sticks and logs traveling down the Mississippi River, traveling through various places where adventures occur, as when they met the false Duke and King Louis XVII of France, who are bandits and swindlers, with them live situations like the sale of slaves, false thing because these are imposters, but Finn was suspicious of them and did not trust them. Finn and Jim have adventures in Missouri, Illinois or Kentucky where they were separated by an incident with the raft and another boat; Finn is taken in by a family that had a dispute with another family, these two aristocratic families and meets another young man of his age, they witness a confrontation in the best style of Romeo and Juliet as the Capulet and Montague, where a member of a family falls in love with a member of the family in dispute and they are shot, including the new friend of Finn, after this he goes in search of his friend Jim and they are reunited going to Arkansas. At the end of this adventure story, Jim learns that he is a free man, when he finds out that his owner, Mrs. Watson, left Jim his freedom in her will and to Finn's knowledge his alcoholic and abusive father had passed away some time ago. This story is great, I read it at a time when I was committed to adventure reading and it is difficult not to give some spoilers of the book, but I hope that if you like this kind of novels, put this one in your list to read. We will consider three main points: 1. Was Huckleberry Finn black? 2. The pace of the story 3. Is this a continuation of Twain's previous novel? On a personal note, I know Twain's name is well known, but beyond knowing the writer, it is important to know his works.
“Las aventuras de Huckleberry Finn”, relata una serie de aventuras enmarcadas en una época donde la esclavitud en los Estados Unidos estaba en auge. Finn, apenas era un adolescente que tenía sus andanzas y algunas trampas, en conjunto con su primo Tom, el protagonista del libro que antecede a este y que es secuestrado por su propio padre al saber que poseía algo de dinero. Pero este con destreza logra escapar. Es acá donde conoce a jim, quien era esclavo de una señora muy cascarrabias y mal encarada la cual el mismo finn le guardaba mucho rencor, este es un hombre de contextura fuerte, era un esclavo de trabajo forzado, pero un hombre muy pacífico y gentil ante las cosas. Juntos se embarcan en una balsa hecha de palos y troncos viajando por el rio misisipi, recorriendo varios lugares donde ocurren aventuras, como cuando conocieron a los falsos Duque y rey Luis XVII de Francia, quienes son unos bandidos y estafadores, con ellos viven situaciones como la venta de esclavos, cosa falsa debido a que estos son unos impostores, pero Finn sospechaba de ellos y no les tuvo confianza. Finn y jim tienen aventuras en Misuri, Illinois o Kentucky donde se vieron separados por un incidente con la balsa y otra embarcación; fin es acogido por una familia que tenía una disputa con otra familia, estas dos familias aristocráticas y conoce a otro joven de su edad, estos presencian un enfrentamiento al mejor estilo de romeo y Julieta como los Capuleto y Montesco, donde una miembro de una familia se enamora de un miembro de la familia en disputa y estos son fusilados, incluso el nuevo amigo de fin, pasado esto va en busca de su amigo Jim y se reencuentran yendo a Arkansas. En todo esto ya al final de esta historia de aventuras, jim se hace del conocimiento de que es un hombre libre, al enterarse que su dueña, la Sra. Watson dejó en su testamento la liberación de jim y para conocimiento de Finn su padre alcohólico y maltratador había fallecido ya hace un tiempo. Esta historia es grandiosa, la leí en una época donde estaba comprometido con la lectura de aventuras y es difícil no dar algunos spoilers del libro, pero espero que si les agrada este tipo de novelas, coloquen está en su lista por leer. Tomaremos en cuenta tres puntos principales: 1. ¿Era Huckleberry Finn negro? 2. El ritmo de la historia 3. ¿Esta es la continuación de la novela anterior de Twain? En consideración personal, sé que el nombre de twain es muy conocido, pero más allá de conocer al escritor es importante conocer sus obras.
1. Was Huckleberry Finn black?
As described in some opinions (which can be found in the references left below in the post) the valuation of Finn with the African-American culture, has to do with how this would be a connection between white and black culture without leaving aside other considerations, taking into account that Jim, despite being noble and peaceful, is described as somewhat foolish and ignorant, because of this Twain was accused of being a racist.
Según lo descrito en algunas opiniones (que se pueden encontrar en las referencias dejadas abajo en el post) la valoración de Finn con la cultura afroamericana, tiene que ver en como este sería una conexión entre la cultura blanca y negra sin dejar de lado otras consideraciones, teniendo en cuenta que jim a pesar de ser noble y pacífico, se describe como algo tonto e ignorante, debido a esto fue acusado Twain de racista.
2. rhythm of the story
The rhythm of the story evolves and involves more and more things in the reading that make it more and more addictive. Each character in itself is well described and each part engages us more and more with the protagonists, who, although they share a good friendship, are also involved in betrayal but with it comes forgiveness.
El ritmo de la historia va evolucionando e involucrando más cosas en la lectura que lo hacen cada vez más adictivo. Cada personaje en sí está bien descrito y cada parte nos va comprometiendo más y más con los protagonistas, que si bien, comparten una buena amistad, también se ven envueltos en traición pero con ello viene luego el perdón.
3. Is this a continuation of Twain's previous novel?
It is important to know that before this book, Twain wrote "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" who appears in this book as the cousin of the end. I have not read this book, but it is seen as two parts with different stories and protagonists that take place in the same era and literary universe.
Es importante saber que antes de este libro, Twain escribió “Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer” quien aparece en este como el primo de fin, dicho libro no lo he leído, pero se contempla como dos partes con historias y protagonistas distintos que se llevan a cabo en una misma época y universo literario.
