Is it a shocker?
Let me tell you my dear reader, NO! It is not a shocker. It is perfectly normal considering our current direction. Allow me to elaborate.

  1. Before we start, what is HiveBuzz?
Like any normal forum, there are badges for engagement. Each user can view their activity badges and find what is the remaining for the next badge. In addition, you can view the rankings of all Hive Accounts, to know where you are, who is the biggest delegator or delegatee.

  2. Why is it important?
It is something that forums use to increase its users' engagement. Iterating on a quote from @slobberchops post, if you are here to milk the cash cow then, it probably doesn't matter (https://hive.blog/hive-167922/@slobberchops/are-you-on-hive-to-invest-or-to-milk-the-cash-cow).

However, if you value those who write or engage because, they enjoy it. Or, if you have been here for a while. HiveBuzz might be something that you want around. For instance, my current ranking in Hive is #23818. You can check yours too alongside your reputation according to Hive. It is really cool to see where you at and how much you moved up or down comparing to other users. It is a thing that is called "gamification" which leads me to my next point.

  1. Gamification
This has been recognized as a successful approach for many world wide recognizable companies. Where they introduce something like this to retain their user base.

But, what user base are we having or making?

  1. To Our Beloved User Base
Of course, all the users in any platform is what makes the platform successful. If people lost their interest in any a platform, it loses its value.

We all know that platforms like this is lucrative. With that being said, we understand that all of us don't mind gaining something (big or small) for our time here.

But, on what expense?

I'm not against users making profits. There is nothing wrong with that. But, at some point we may need to support those who are genuine and make decisions in favor of supporting the whole ecosystem. (Don't get me wrong here, I am not talking about HiveBuzz in particular, or in a way saying that all of their decisions are perfect. But, that will be your own opinion to make according to what value you think they are adding to the platform).

  1. What HiveBuzz needs?
If you reach here, you probably wondering, what do they need. Well,

HiveBuzz needs support on their DHF Proposal (https://peakd.com/hive-139531/@hivebuzz/proposal-2324).

According to @bradleyarrow post, there proposal is currently at 31,593,601.056HP and they need to raise it to 34,608,376.230HP.

With a little over 3 million HP of users' support to get HiveBuzz funded again. Else, its probably going to be a dead project.

To conclude, this post was written to raise awareness. If you know or would like to support HiveBuzz, then I can tell you this, every contribution helps.

Hive reminds me of Atlantic City.

Everything dies, baby, that’s a fact.

Well, they blew up the Chicken Man in Philly last night
And they blew up his house, too
Down on the boardwalk they're ready for a fight
Gonna see what them racket boys can do
Now there's trouble busin' in from outta state
And the D.A. can't get no relief
Gonna be a rumble on the promenade
And the gamblin' commissioner's hangin' on by the skin of his teeth
Everything dies, baby, that's a fact
But maybe everything that dies some day comes back
Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty
And meet me tonight in Atlantic City
