Nonamed is an adventure game for Amstrad, among other systems, published by Dinamic in 1986.
In a bygone era, in Lower Saxony there existed a town ruled by an ancient and venerable monarch. The young aspiring knights of the kingdom were subjected to very harsh tests. Only the fittest could access the final challenge: The rite of the Nonamed Castle.
One by one they were locked up, the objective being to survive the nightmares that their walls contained and find a way out. Most perished under the attack of supernatural creatures and the spells of the wizard Nilrem.
To pass the test and escape we rely on our physical skills and our ability to solve puzzles.
We will be attacked by monsters and skeletons that we can eliminate by kicking. Other hostile enemies are crows, flying axes or wheels, which we must avoid by crouching or jumping as appropriate.
The castle consists of several rooms and floors that can be accessed by means of ropes. The fountain in the inner garden is said to have magical properties, and can enhance our abilities.
As we wander around the place we will find several important elements. First of all we see skulls scattered throughout the room, surely belonging to the unfortunate ones who did not pass the test. There is also a room with a large treasure and a huge dragon that seems to guard it. And finally there is the enigmatic sorcerer Nilrem.
Finding the relationship between these characters and objects is what will get us out of the castle alive…
