It is an emotion, but when taken to another level it becomes a silent killer of dreams, of potential and of happiness. Fundamentally then, fear is a protective signal that which might harm us. However when it controls the thinking and the actions it becomes a four wall in which an individual is imprisoned to average living.
Fear paralyzes action. It tells you that you will fail or that people will look at you in a certain way. These questions prey on self-doubt and are often the main reason we avoid going after that which can change our lives. This is what fear does, keeps us right where we don’t want to be; right in our comfort zone, far away from where the real growth happens, far away from the unknown.
It also distorts reality. Worry distorts situations in that it makes difficult situations seem impossible to overcome. This distorted vision incites stress, anxiety and even physical health disorders. It reduces confidence, and makes each achievement into a fight. Family bond is also impaired because, fear makes people incapable of being open with others and there is no trust at all.
The worst effect of fear is that it dispossess people of their time without them knowing the same. Any time wasted in thinking twice, avoiding something, or stressing about something is time wasted in you life. The need for a bold future is replaced with hypothetical ‘What if’ scenarios.
The successful fight against fear cannot happen without courage, faith. The next common theme involves getting into trouble and not recognizing fear as a roadblock on the way to a resolution, but as a barrier that will eventually be removed. Take action again, and regain your ability to live a life to the fullest.
