Many things creep into the lives of some Christians and make them captives. As a result, they become slaves to sin, sickness and
the powers of darkness. The more they struggle to get free, the more they are captured and encumbered. But the good news is that God is always ready and might to deliver. Today, God is calling as many that have been encumbered and enslaved by things around them to come to Him (Matthew 11:28) He wants to renew and empower them today.
Some good and legitimate things also encumber the lives of many just as it was in the case of Martha (Luke 10:40). When things so encumber your life that you have no time or desire to pray or attend weekly church meetings, you need to be careful. You shouldn't join the rat race and allow the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches to take your time and make you abandon the essential things of eternal value.
Today, examine and search yourself to identify those things earning up your strength and making you fruitless, them her rid of them. The bible admonishes you to "Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns" (Jeremiah 4:3). It is imperative you disengage from those things that occupy your mind, encumber you life and keep you away from bearing fruits unto the the Lord. Forsake this things that hinder the power and night of God in your life; wait on the Lord in prayer to get rid of them and ask for the recovery of your lost confidence, courage, conviction and Christian experiences (Isaiah 40:28-31). God will give you the strength and power to overcome and you will be victorious.
