Christians ought to believe in Jesus Christ who is considered as the Son of God in Christianity. He lived a long time ago and his message is documented in the New Testament of the Bibles.
Although most people may not know them, Jesus was born in Bethlehem to the Virgin Mary and he spent most of his childhood in Nazareth. He lived with miracles, teachings and ended up crucified and resurrected.
Beginning of ministry can be marked with the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist. He then set out preaching and healing, passing such messages as love, forgiveness, the kingdom of God. He sang parables, usually brief fables with deep spiritual lessons, to the Jews in his time.
Many of which are the following: feeding the multitude with five loaves of bread and two fishes, healing the sick, the demoniacs, and even the resurrection of the dead. The major manifestations of the power of Christ included the provision of food where he turned the few loaves of bread and fish to provide for more than 5000 people.
There was opposition, but it came in Jesus’ ministry only. Religious authorities that were threatened by his words and actions confronted him frequently. Finally he was handed over to one of his twelve apostles named Judas Iscariot, who was paid thirty pieces of silver for a betrayal of Jesus.
Jesus was killed by a merciless death known as Crucifixion and this was conducted on wooden Cross. But that is not the end of his story. On the third day, by the gospel’s account, he got up from the dead to affirm his godliness and triumph over death. He was resurrected from death which is observed as Easter party by Christians which falls in their calender.
Christianity has remained major religion in the world because the teachings of Jesus Christ are still relevant. What he stood for, love, forgiveness and hope has changed the course of human history in so many ways.
