Appreciator App: New Reward Mechanism Supporting More Creators and Communities!

A major update to Appreciator App now enables the platform to account for beneficiaries added to original posts. This change expands the scope of Appreciator’s support, ensuring that more creators, communities, and beneficiaries can earn rewards for their contributions.

What Has Changed?

Previously, Appreciator App could not effectively support posts with predefined beneficiaries, as the reward distribution mechanism was unable to account for them. This limitation meant that certain types of content and their associated beneficiaries were excluded from earning rewards. Posts from communities and platforms like Blurt Media, which often set specific beneficiaries, were particularly affected by this restriction.

With the latest update, Appreciator App can now dynamically recognize and include these beneficiaries in its reward distribution. This adjustment ensures that all contributors tied to a post—whether they are authors, communities, or other beneficiaries—receive their fair share of the rewards.

How It Works

The updated mechanism allows Appreciator App to:

  1. Incorporate Original Beneficiaries: When processing a post, the app now includes beneficiaries specified in the original post settings, ensuring their rewards are respected.
  2. Dynamic Reward Allocation: The app calculates the remaining reward percentages after accounting for these beneficiaries and distributes the remainder between the author and Appreciator App’s own allocation.
  3. Support for More Communities: Communities and platforms with custom reward structures, like Blurt Media, can now fully participate and benefit from Appreciator’s reward ecosystem.

Why Is This Important?

This improvement ensures that all participants in the content creation and curation process are properly rewarded. Whether it’s a community platform, an individual beneficiary, or the original author, everyone benefits:

  • Authors can now receive their share of rewards even when predefined beneficiaries are present.
  • Beneficiaries set in the original post are automatically included, ensuring they are not overlooked.
  • Communities hosting or promoting posts are rewarded for their role in fostering engagement.

What It Means for Creators and Beneficiaries

If you create posts or participate as a beneficiary, you can now:

  • Earn Rewards Automatically: Beneficiaries added to original posts will be included in reward calculations without additional effort.
  • Gain Fair Distribution: Whether you are an author, beneficiary, or community, the updated mechanism ensures a transparent and fair allocation of rewards.
  • Be Part of a Broader Ecosystem: Platforms and communities that rely on predefined beneficiaries can now participate fully in Appreciator App’s support model.

Summary

With the ability to account for beneficiaries set in original posts, Appreciator App has unlocked new possibilities for supporting creators and communities. This change ensures that platforms like Blurt Media, along with their associated beneficiaries, can now generate rewards seamlessly. By fostering a more inclusive reward distribution model, Appreciator App continues to empower creators and strengthen the entire Blurt ecosystem.

Stay tuned for more updates as Appreciator App evolves to better support the Blurt community and beyond!

This is AWESOME!! Thank you so much for adding that feature! Now, it's similar to a royalty, so if people are out there promoting a Blurt.media creator (an author) for example, that author will now get a little extra reward from all that promotion. For someone who is trying to become an influencer or just get fairly seen, this will help them immensely. 💪 #discoverability #blurtlife

this functionality can be a problem when supporting video in the long run. so that creators can use the appreciation, it should be removed and allow voting to be done normally, regardless of the publication date.

Especially since the main way older videos will be found is definitely through the blurt.media interface.

Actually, I've already been thinking of merging the tipping and upvoting feature into one little slider/modal that appears [probably after] day 7 so that it feels like the normal upvote, but your vote still counts, but it is also prompting you to leave that author some sats as a transfer. The ux of course will have as few clicks as possible and a minimalist ui so that it is grandma-friendly as i always say.

So, the author can still get rewards, and an incremented upvote count, and maybe even bigger rewards after day 7.

but then the appreciator will not work. Blockchain records votes cast even after the settlement time, it just automatically gives them a value of 0 and the appreciator uses this fact. If you want to introduce this, it is best to do it in such a way that the vote is still counted by blockchain and next to it there is the functionality you are talking about. Especially since it is also important for the author in the context of analytics how many people voted for his content and in the case of future analytical tools that developers can create. Another issue is that other developers in the future may want to introduce similar content reward systems like this and simply if you solve FE media blurt in such a way that returning the vote after the time is impossible, then the authors of the films will not use it. In any case, as long as this bubble pops up and there is no possibility to vote, unfortunately users will not receive a reward from the appreciator. It would be nice if you took this into account.

You welcome. I recently realized that the functionality of the appreciater does not give the possibility of supporting people if we have a solution for the beneficiaries, which excludes those who earn money on films in the long run, and after all, this is what YouTubers etc. are looking for... So I sat down over the weekend to fix it as soon as possible ;)

Rewarding the original author and their designated beneficiaries

great update, video creators will benefit from it

Blurt.Media users, or all video creators?
I have hundreds of videos posted on Blurt, they tend to be lowest-earning posts, even though they take the most effort and provide the most content.

If you want to benefit from videos on blurt you should share them on blurt media it is not obvious? Imagine the opposite situation that you want to earn money from videos from y by sharing them on blurt media and linking them on facebook. It is obvious that this is not possible. Blurt and like in this area gives more possibilities.

But apart from that, all your posts that you have ever placed with videos from yt or other places, if you take care again that people are interested in them, they can also earn money thanks to the appreciator you just have to do exactly the same thing you do with videos on yt, i.e. share them again so that someone has a chance to see them again and like them.

And this is where the sense of promoting your posts comes in.

This seems like a list of 1 item, stated in various ways over and over.
It's good that it works with beneficiaries now, although I never use that option myself.
How can we tell what old posts appreciator is supporting, and by how much? Is there more info anywhere that users can access, or do we just go by the comment left by the bot?

If you really want to know, you can check the operations on Blurt explorer or Ecosynthetizer, for example.

Every vote cast for an article after the time is also saved in the blockchain even after the settlement period.

You can also see on the frontend beblurt.com, although you won't see who voted last, but you can tell by the fact that the reward is 0 that the vote was cast after the settlement period.

Appreciator was not supposed to provide nicknames in principle, firstly because if they were written out, they would automatically call the given person, which could be annoying, secondly if it's one or two people, that's fine, but imagine that now one article gets 100 additional votes and they are all written out in the comment.

You can also view the current json file for the ranking:

https://blurtplugin.online/ranking

it changes as posts fall out of the ranking of course but all the details of who voted and when are listed here.
