Embracing Challenges As Opportunities

At this point in life, one thing we do stay to ourselves is that we will never allow our kids go through the same hardship we face while growing up but we know the honest truth ourselves that if not because of the lessons and experience we learn from those hard times, we might not be where we are today. Someone once told me, life isn't made to be easy, even the bible said we will have tribulations but he has overcome the world, but I wish the world will just be free with no hardship (oh we do wish for that) but it isn't just possible, I remember those days when I do wish my parent are one of the wealthy parent in the world, that my life will be more better, I won't have to do anything since there will always be money who solve all things (like they use to say) and will just have everything at the tip of my fingers but when I get to rethink it again, that is a foolish thought because money can't really give you everything especially those lessons you learn from those challenges.

Will I make life easy for my kids? big yes with everything I have but will I shield them from obstacles Big No because that will be like spoiling them instead of them learning, the main question is what will happen if you are not with them, how will they cope, I have seen and heard of stories about parent caging their children just because they don't want them to mingle with the outside world but at the end they turn become daft when face with challenges with no clue on what to do, also they are easy target for bullies because they won't be able to stand up for themselves. I watched this particular movie, the girl was the only child of her rich parent so they really pamper her to the extend that she see the world is at her feet begging for mercy, anything she want they give her without question, she was really a spoilt brat and have no real friends because they keep pretending they like her and always look for way not to offend her, then all of a sudden, life happens, her father was arrested for fraud, all property and money seize and she was all alone, her other family and friends rejected her because of her behaviour and entitlement act.

Her last option was to stay with their one time house help who was living in the slum, first day, she was robbed due to her stupidity and almost raped until a street guy show up to save her and had to learn things she supposed to have learn from scratch because life isn't a bed of roses ( not as sweet and not that bitter just to complete the statement). I think it is best to guide them about life, let them know the good and bad side, they should always know that street OT because if they don't, they will be learn it the hard way one day, we should learn to strike a balance and make them know better, teach them how to fish and not fish for them and they will always appreciate those lessons on a long run.
