How we relate with people matters a lot. As humans, we are described to be social beings. In our place of work, study , or even in our environment, it is important that we establish relationship with the people we find around us. People are our greatest asset. There are certain phases we come in contact with that we will find ourselves in the need of people.

However, getting influence over people doesn't happen automatically. There are factors that are associated with exerting influence on people. The highest levels of influence is People who follow you because of who you are. This has to do with Trustworthiness. People tend to associate with you or love to have something to do with you based on trust.

That's the reason why when politicians run for campaigns one of their best strategies is telling the people of the past deeds that they have done that benefited people. When you have a good track record people find it easier to place their trust on you. That's why people will rather go with Coca-cola when wanting to have a soft drink than to go with another soft drink which they haven't heard of.

The second level of people who are those who follow you because of what you've done for them see. Now this one has to do with generosity. We leave in a world where we go by the rule Give and Take. When you show generosity to people, you indirectly are gaining influence over them.

When you show generosity to people, it is almost impossible for them to forget you. You automatically register your face in their minds. That is why some people cannot be forgotten because of how they bettered the lives of people in one way or the other.
