Your Team: One of Your Greatest Asset
There's a popular adage that says if you want to move fast, walk alone. But if you want to go far, walk with people. In achieving success in any sphere of life, you need to surround yourself with people. This people put together is your team. I've read and watched a lot of movies about highly successful people of our time. One thing I found in common among them was that they all had teams.
No successful person arrived to where he is without a team. Mark Zuckerberg had a team that brought about the reality of one of the most used social media app in the entire world: Facebook. Facebook would not have been heard of today without the help of His team. He could've laid off the team after he was being announced to the world, but he didn't because he knew the value of a team.
I discovered the importance of this as an artiste. There's no doubt that breaking through into the music world can be quite challenging: paying for instrumentals, paying for studio sessions, paying for video shoots, promoting your music, and the rest. It can be quite daunting. But one way to lessen this burden is by having a team.
I discovered that it'll be much easier if I had specific people who could take care of each of these tasks for me. So instead of recording a song in one studio today and then jumping to another studio tomorrow, or having a producer make me a beat today and have another do the same for me another day, I figured it'll be a lot better to select certain groups of people that have their distinct specialties and work with them long-term.
It saves me a whole lot. Surely, I'd have to pay them for their services, but it won't be as high as other people I keep meeting randomly. Find a group of people that you can use to make up a team. Invest in them because your success is tied to the success of the team.
Stop trying to be a one-man army; that will never work. You'll just end up working yourself up unnecessarily, and most times little or no results are achieved in the process. Start today to seek out means to setting up a team.
